Apart from that, Lincoln is the guardian of four successful children, Robert Todd, Edward Baker, William Wallace, and Thomas Lincoln. Unfortunately, his second son Edward Baker Lincoln passed away very shortly after birth.

Abraham Lincoln’s parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks. Unfortunately, his mother passed away, not allowing her to see the hero her son would become today. His father, Thomas Lincoln, remarried Sarah Bush Johnson. Even though she was not his biological mother, she still developed a close relationship with Lincoln.

Since he grew up in poverty with minimum access to education, he had to borrow books to educate himself. His determination to gain knowledge helped him overcome these obstacles and become educated.

Like many other individuals, the famous 16th president of the United States experienced personal losses. From the devastating death of his mother to the deaths of his sons, Lincoln had witnessed many tragic events, but this was different. These events impacted him emotionally and influenced his perspective on empathy and grief. 

Many heroes go through some sort of struggle, it was the same for Abraham Lincoln. He lost numerous elections and faced difficulties in his political career. His thoughts about the expansion of slavery were met with disagreements, leading to opposition from many political parties.

These struggles helped shape Lincoln’s determination, durability and empathy. The reason why he was able to become a leader was because of his ability to continue through sorrowful situations and navigate challenges.
