While being trained to be a server I expressed active learning through being observant to my trainer. One way I exercised my use of technology was through the POS system where I watched her put the orders in and maneuver through the POS system.

When training as a server I was given a table to see what exactly I had learned from my trainer. While she shadowed me, she made sure to tell me what I needed to know as well as what needed to be corrected. For instance, when putting in an order through the POS system I made many mistakes when trying to put customers' orders in. She made sure to give me feedback as to what gave me problems and why certain things were messed up.

When being asked certain questions and being asked to do certain tasks I made sure that if I had no problem doing so that I did them. Also, I was very active when having conversations with her as well as other servers and customers.

A time where I was authentic was when I learned how to use a PC after being taught by a friend of mine. PCs are used a lot more in today's age than they were before so being able to navigate through the system was very invigorating for me.

When being taught how to use both the POS and the PC the directions given to me were very straightforward and intentional on helping me to understand how to use the different devices.
