In times like this, we are reminded of the words of Mister Rogers: “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’” May you find strength and comfort in the helpers around you, and may the care of your broader community bring you peace in the days ahead.

We stand with you in spirit and prayer. Though miles apart, we are connected in our shared mission to care for children and provide them with safe and loving places to learn. You are not alone.

As educators, we are united by a shared mission—to care for, guide, and protect every student, every day. No matter where we teach across Minnesota, our calling is the same: to nurture young people with compassion, wisdom, and hope. When one school community experiences pain, all of us in education feel it, because we know how deeply our work is rooted in relationships and the lives of children.

In this difficult time, we stand beside you in solidarity. May you find strength in knowing that the broader network of educators and school communities across Minnesota holds you in thought and prayer. Together, we will continue working to create safe, supportive environments where every student can learn, grow, and flourish.

To Our Dear Neighbors at Annunciation School and Community,

We in the SouthWest Metro Community are heartbroken by the unthinkable tragedy that has struck your school. Words feel inadequate, but we wanted to reach out and let you know that our thoughts are with you all. We are especially thinking of the families of Harper and Fletcher, the two children so cruelly taken from you. We also wish a swift and full recovery to all who were injured.

We have been following the news and are in awe of the heroic actions of your staff, first responders, and the entire Annunciation community. The way you have come together to support one another is a testament to your strength and resilience. We see the memorial growing and the love pouring out from all over the Twin Cities and beyond.

Please know that we stand with you in solidarity and grief. Your pain is our pain. We are sending you our deepest sympathy and hope for your healing.
