The concept of Transmission that Ratliff expresses to us is very accurate and before reading this book I never new what to call the feeling itself. However, I do believe that the concept is less complex in modern society and much more self-centered than he has conveyed. For example when we listen to music today I think that we tend to use experience Transmission through our own life's and not branching out into the minds of the writer and/or artist who created the piece. This may be a good or bad thing I have not figured it out yet so for right now just an observation. I do agree with Ratliff overall because have seen and experience the transmission of music.
