I hope this email finds you well at the end of our first week of the academic term. It has been a pleasure to meet and get to know your children this week. I am delighted to be their form tutor, and I am also fortunate to be teaching them Science twice a week. It has been an amazing second week at NAS Dubai for 7E! We’ve had lots of fun during form time, and it was wonderful to meet so many of you at the "Meet the Form Tutor" event. I believe the event was extremely beneficial for everyone – myself and the parents alike. There are still a couple of parents I need to call, and I promise to get to this very soon!

During form time this week, we explored SMART targets and how they can help us stay focused on our goals. Each student added their targets to our class Padlet. We ended the week with reflections on our transition and a fun memory game – I must say, 7E has a fantastic short-term memory!

In Science this week, we looked at how scientists organise information into tables and graphs.

Next week, we will be working towards earning our Bunsen Burner Licenses – something we’re all very excited about!

Year 7E Form Tutor

We've had another fantastic week with 7E! From exciting classroom activities to messages from teachers, I’m thrilled to share all the wonderful things your children have been up to.

This week, I received an incredible email from Ms. Mohammed, 7E’s English teacher, praising their enthusiasm and reading skills: “Hi Abrar, please can you give a big, big well done to 7E for being such a fantastic class. They have read so well and with so much enthusiasm. Their reading is brilliant and clear! They have an excellent attitude to learning. A great start to secondary school! Best class!"

Additionally, Mr. McGarrity has shared that “They’ve all been working really hard in Geography and have all been selected for the Wizard of Oz production as well.” Be sure to check out the photos on our class Padlet page!

In Science, the students worked diligently to earn their Bunsen burner licenses, and I’m pleased to say they all achieved them! This was a big moment, and I’ve uploaded photos of their practical work on Padlet for you to see.

Another amazing week with 7E!

A huge congratulations to four of our boys for making the football team from 7E! If anyone else has made any other team, do let me know during the week and I will make sure to give you a shout-out!

Mr. Lombard, their DICE teacher, shared some amazing feedback about how engaged and well the children are participating in his lessons. He has even sent over some pictures and videos, which you can now view in our Photo Studio on our class Padlet.

In Moral Education, we have been exploring the concept of “I am because we are” by discussing our home countries alongside the UAE.

In science, we planned an experiment last week and this Wednesday, we will be carrying out our experiments—I can't wait to see how they go!

5- I have found a bit of growth in geography as I knew nothing about it now I am used to it.

3. The thing I found challenging was going from the D block to the A block and then back again. Some exercise.

4. I feel safe with my new NAS teachers, and with my friends, I don’t even have to say anything, in a good way.

5. The only new thing I found out about myself was that I am trying not to get any demerits this year but that will be hard.

Another wonderful week with 7E! A special happy birthday to Aydan and Sid, and thank you for the doughnuts—they were thoroughly enjoyed by the class.

This week, we completed the science test, and the children worked hard in their preparations. In celebration of World Children’s Day, students engaged in discussions and activities centred on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Rights of the Child. Feel free to explore this further at home or help your child create a poster for the additional task.

I hope this email finds you well. Wishing you all a very Happy National Day! I hope you have something relaxing planned for the long weekend ahead. We’re also just two weeks away from the Winter break – so close now, just one final push!

It was lovely seeing so many of you at parents' evening last night and catching up about your child’s progress in Science. For those who couldn’t make it, no worries – I’ll be sending out an email soon with notes and resources to keep you updated.

On another note, the class has been pestering me for the past two weeks to organise a Secret Santa, and I’ve finally agreed to it (against my better judgement!). I’ve made it clear that our form reps, Leah and Mourad, are taking full responsibility for organising and leading the activity. To keep it simple and manageable, we’ve set a budget range of 50-100 AED. Please encourage your child to stick within this limit and not go overboard.

During Ramadan, our form time was shortened to about 10 minutes, allowing a more relaxed schedule. I understand returning to a full routine might be a surprise for some, but starting next term, we’ll get back to:
