         <description><![CDATA[<div>the international crisis broke out in the Middle East intensified the confrontation between the US &amp; the USSR. For example, the Yom Kippur War broke out between Israel and Arab countries. The USSR provided weapons to Syria and Egypt while the US provided aid to Israel. Also, Iran Crisis also deteriorate the confrontation between US and USSR. For example. with the excuse of Iran being pro-German, Britain and the USSR occupied the southern and northern parts of Iran respectively, where Iran was rich in oil supply. Both US and USSR aimed to occupy areas which are beneficial to their own interests. As a result, the confrontation between the US and the USSR led to international conflicts<br>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

The US, Britain, and the USSR signed the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty in 1963, promising not to conduct nuclear tests in outer space, atmosphere, or underwater. They also imposed a ban on putting up nuclear and other destructive weapons in outer space and the ocean. The limitation of armaments helped to reduce conflicts and wars effectively.<br>Moreover, the US and the USSR jointly drafted the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and submitted it to the UN General Assembly. This has prohibited countries that possessed nuclear weapons from assisting other non-nuclear-weapon states in obtaining or producing them.</div>]]></description>

It provided an aid of US$13B to Greece, Turkey and Western European countries through the plan. The OEEC was formed and it strengthened the connection among the US and Western European countries.<br><br>&nbsp; As for the USSR, it introduced the Molotov plan.
