This proves that Sandburg’s literature supported the American Dream  because it clearly shows his opinion of believing that struggles lead to success and the American dream.

…No to personal malice nursed and fed…”(Sandburg, Carl, “The People, Yes.”) Because he wrote about Abraham Licoln’s success and the poem was published to inspire people that they would get through their tough times, he must have believed in the AMerican Dream if he was trying to build hope for the idea of the current generation achieving it.
