As a funder COAST supports research led by faculty members and students (often from MLML but not exclusively) that use MLML boating and diving resources

One of our faculty is building autonomous underwater vehicles for marine species identification. So far, we are only in the pool, but would like to do actual water soon!

Currently, we at Sonoma State are diving under the auspices of the MLML Dive Program. We want to keep that going in order to train students and carry on our collaborative research.

We still have Marine Science on the books at East Bay and faculty and students working on ocean science (Tyler Evans, Jim Murray, etc.). We have underwater drone robotics and climate change research. I can see all of these working with MLML for coursework, research, etc. as we did under the old consortium model.
