         <description><![CDATA[<div>Next Steps:&nbsp;</div><div>-Second grade will address low TRC scores in Reading 3D through shared writing, modeling written responses, completing written responses in guided reading groups, and requiring nightly reading responses for homework.</div><div>-Based on data from last year’s first graders, a class reduction position has been added in second grade to lower class sizes.</div><div>-A Title I tutor and a teacher assistant will each work with small groups of students, with emphasis being placed on bubble students (within 1-4 questions of proficiency in DE reading).</div><div>-Smarty Ants will be used to strengthen phonics skills.</div><div>-Eleven second graders are now using Achieve 3000 instead of participating in their regular DI instruction.&nbsp; More students will transition into this group as data indicates their readiness.&nbsp; &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Last year 37 students, or 52% of the 3rd grade population fell in this scoring range. This year 54 students making up 65% of the population fell in this scoring range.&nbsp; 95% of students scoring 1442 passed the EOG last year. The number of students scoring 1442 increased to 39 students from 27 students.&nbsp;<br><br>Next Steps:</div><div>-Continue phonics instruction.&nbsp;</div><div>-Focus on text features using non-fiction text during guided reading.&nbsp;</div><div>-Instruct on character analysis focusing on why the character responds in different ways.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Last year, 73% of 4th graders who score 1488 on benchmark 1 passed the EOG. That equated to 44 students which was 49% of the 4th grade student population. This year 51% of the 4th grade population, 33 students, scored 1488 or higher.&nbsp; 96% of students scoring 1534 passed the EOG last year. 37% of our students this year scored within that range which is up from 27% of students last year.&nbsp;<br><br>Next Steps:&nbsp;</div><div>-As a grade level we will focus on comparing two similar texts using questions related to the 4th grade skills (theme, main idea etc.) utilizing ReadWorks, CPalms and BetterLesson.-</div><div>-Continue with PBL’s in Science and Social Studies to incorporate and apply reading and math skills.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
