Shrek is living in his swamp with all his necessities. He is a carefree ogre, just iving his life. "Armies" would go to the swamp trying to capture/kill him, but he would just end up scaring them away.

After saving Donkey, Shrek lets him stay at his swamp. Later that night all fairytale things are at his swamp, as they were sent there by Lord Farquaad. Shrek announces he is going to visit Lord Farquaad, so they can get their homes back and he can be alone again. In order to get his home all to himself, Shrek must go and rescue Princess Fiona for Lord Farquad.

Crossing the threshold

When Shrek and Donkey get inside Princess Fiona's tower and cross the bridge and are met with their task... the dragon and the princess.

Allies, Trials, and Enemies

Tests: Shrek must rescue and take Princess Fiona back to Lord Farquaad

Enemies: Dragon was one at first, but later became an ally. Lord Farquaad becomes the enemy later on, as he is using Fiona.

Allies: Donkey and Princess Fiona. The Dragon later becomes one too.

Approach the Inmost cave

Shrek and Donkey are preparing to slay the dragon and rescue the princess, and they're not giving up. To accomplish this, they cross the bridge with lava under it.

The supreme ordeal

The life or death situation for Shrek is having to get past the dragon. He does successfully, gets the princess, then encounters the dragon again. The dragon almost kills Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona, but Shrek tied up the dragon's chains, making it difficult to get to them.

Reward

1) Shrek just wants the swamp back all to himself, and that's what he is going to get.

2) Later on, once Shrek gives Princess Fiona to Lord Farquaad and is rewarded with the swamp all to himself.

The road back

1) Shrek is determind to complete the adventure. But, Robin Hood tries to capture Fiona and kill Shrek. Fiona then takes down Robin Hood and his men. Later there is a sense of urgency, as Fiona must marry before she becomes an ogre forever.

2) Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey are all sad and/or angry, due to miscommunication of words. Shrek must get Fiona back before she marries Lord Farquaad!

Resurrection

Shrek must get Fiona before the wedding starts to...

1) apologize to her about his assumptions.

2) find out who she was talking about and what she said about him back at the camp.

3) confess his love for her!!! <3

4) tell her Lord Farquaad is using her so he can become King!

Return with the prize

Once Fiona knows about Lord Farquaad's intentions, she denies his marriage and turns into an ogre again. Lord Farquaad calls his guards to capture Shrek and Fiona, but they fight them off with the help of the dragon and Donkey. Shrek confesses his love for Fiona and she confesses her love for him, and then they kiss!!!!!!!!!!! <3<3<3 Fiona fully turns into an ogre. Shrek and Princess Fiona get married and live happily ever after!!!!
