Due to the huge differences between English and Japanese, namely its grammar and overall syntax, it takes a lot of effort to learn the language. I faced many challenges but one of the biggest is all the words which are context-sensitive and usually have more than one meaning. Also, the grammar of the Japanese language might be rather complex and it will be necessary to remember about the official and unofficial manner of speaking and writing. Listening comprehension however comes with it own difficulties. Pacing of native speakers and informal language which might be difficult to catch may be challenging when in actual interaction which I enjoy in Maid cafes and Cabaret clubs. Such cultural elements not only make me want to learn but also help me to use it in practice at least to some extent. The lively context of these environments encourages me to study Japanese more effectively, making the learning process informative and fun. (168 words)
