The Bilecki's decided to take them in and with their family because they didn't agree with Hitler, they did what felt right. The few strong,  men in the group decided to build a bunker in the woods and camouflage it with twigs and branches. The biggest problem was providing food. Somehow the Bilecki family was able to do it. The second bunker was built near to the Bileckis' own home. It was winter and the snow covered ground would leave a trail of footsteps to the new hiding place because of the snow.

Once a week, someone from the family would come to sing hymns to the Jews and share news from the outside world.
