Relative- the Mescalero Apache are located near Ruidoso Southeast of blue water state park

This location is important because they are part of the Apache tribe. They were just not the main Apache tribe. An example of this is counties inside of a state.

  -Relative-Jicarilla Apache, located in northern New Mexico near the Colorado Border located next to huron lake

               This location is important because it is a part of the apaches location.  This is where they lived and it has effects on what their climate and region is like.  

     Relative- the Fort Sill Apache live near Deming

This location is important because they are part of the Apache tribe. They were just not the main Apache tribe. It is were this part of the tribe lived.

 In their culture whenever a marriage took place the man would move in with the bride's family. And he would work for his father in law from then on even if the wife died. And if she did die her family would try to find him a new bride.

 Before the Spanish came into their territory, the Apache and Pueblo Native Americans had a peaceful and economic relationship with each other. The Pueblo tribe traded the farming products from their farms and also their pottery. And the apache traded buffalo's meat and skin.

 The way that the people moved is by setting up and taking down their homes and just carrying them with them. They lived in Tee-Pees so that they could follow the buffalo as they moved along. They would move at a minimum weekly if not daily. It really just depended on where the buffalo are. They did this because the buffalo were basically their only source of food.

When the Spanish settled trade was affected. And the trade between the tribes on the Mississippi. Some of the Apache became friends with the spanish. Some of the Spanish ideas were transferred to the people who became friends with them. This lets them make advances in their technology.
