I think that Alec has proved a point that if something really good happens, then something bad is due to happen as well. An example of this is when the Black Stallion boards the ship, Alec knows that his dream has come true, because Alec loves horses. Then, the bad thin that happens is that Alec is marooned on a dessert island, with an not-tamable horse. Alec has very little hope that he would survive.

I noticed that the way Alec described The Black makes me realize Alec's passion for the Black. An example of this passion is when Alec's conscious is telling him that there is food that he could have right in front of him, Alec says "Kill the animal that saved his life? Never-even if he could, he would die of starvation first"

I thought that when Alec meets the captin of ship he is thankful. I noticed that Alec was hesitant though, because he was on his own and they were strangers. But after awhile he warmed up to the crew and aceppted them. But I also noticed that with the Black. At first Alec was hesitant with the black, but he warmed up to him. I think that this shows that every can be acepted in the world.

I think that in the book "The Black Stallion", Alec has two main traits that help him survive on the island for twenty days-Determination, and Kindness. The determination helps when Alec doesn't just break down and give up. He doesn't wallow in his own sorrow until he dies of hunger, He pulls himself together to find food. The kindness helps when he tames the Black. That taming benefits him when the Black carries him around over the island and leads him to the weird moss stuff.

A possible theme in this book is "Never give up". This connects to the book because when Alec is on the island, he doesn't give up. He doesn't break down and give up, he finds food, builds shelter, and finds water. The theme lives in the text through the carragheen moss that saved the black and Alec from starvation. The reason that I think this is when Alec finds the carragheen, Alec tells himself to keep on going and to not give up. This theme also lives in the book "Home of the Brave" by Katherine Applegate. The theme lives there as well as it does in The Black Stallion.

An theme from the book black stallion is that there is always a way to find happieness because even though the captain of the ship says no to bringing the stallion aboard alec still finds a way to bring the stallion aboard the ship and even though the captian sigh's alec brings the stallion from the water to the boat witch gave alec his happiness because before when the crew said that he could not bring the stallion alec was crying hard the text said. Also at that same time in the book I also noticed that

I think that a possible theme in the book Black Stallion and Saving Mr. Terupt is "Always keep your hope because you never know what could happen." I think that this theme shows in both books because the characters are facing a problem that is challenging. An example is when The group in Saving Mr. Terupt is having a hard time with the budget and Mr. Terupt being cut. But all of them tried to hope and it worked. And in The Black Stallion, Alec and Henry came across the problem of not having the Blacks family recorded. In the end Alec is about to give up, but he keeps on persevering to help the Black.
