I’ll think of a plan to get the Moor out of the way, so you can speak more openly.” Scene 2

Iago tells Cassio that he will distract Othello that Cassio can speak with Desdemona. Iago is using Cassio , so that he falls for Desdemona so it causes Othello to suspect an issue with his marriage.

"Beware of jealousy, my lord! It’s a green-eyed monster that makes fun of the victims it devours. The man who knows his wife is cheating on him is happy, because at least he isn’t friends with the man she’s sleeping with. But think of the unhappiness of a man who worships his wife, yet doubts her faithfulness. He suspects her, but still loves her." (Scene 4)

Iago uses persuasive tactics to get what he wants, and to have his way. Othello falls for this, just as Iago had planned. His personality is one of very evil manners. However, nothing truly describe his reasoning for revenge, or his hatred for Othello. He is willing to take revenge on anyone, making his character even more threatening.

You can almost smell the dark and ugly desires inside her, the unnatural thoughts—But—I’m sorry—I didn’t mean to refer to her specifically just now. I only worry that she might snap back to her natural taste in men one day, and compare you unfavorably to other Italians." (Combined quote that applies to Act 4 and 5)

Iago shares his thoughts with Othello causing Othello to be in accordance with him. This quote, in my view, is what sets off Othello go to through with his plan to kill Desdemona
