Blended learning is a new term for most teachers. Just like any other new technology concept, it has some drawbacks such as the potential of the lack of visual feedback and communication delays. However, all of these issues can be worked out as long as the teacher is consistently connected with his students.

In order to make online/blended learning work in my own classroom, I would have to start out small and work my way into developing various types of blended learning model parts. For example, I would think big in terms of how I would develop my rotation stations in the classroom. I may use a few ideas from the model and work my up based on student progress. Intervention would be applied to the students who need it. More complex lessons would be given to students that require challenging work. The data would be collected to drive instruction. The data would also be used to inform parents of their child's academic progress and short falls.
