This video shows how children with down syndrome are able to live a normal life style despite the fact that they have a disorder. For example, the baby in the video had to get open heart surgery at 8 months, lots of hospitalizations for pneumonia, and needed to be taught how to walk. But, also in the video we see the baby at the beach and the baby swinging on a swing, dance, and smile. This goes to show that the child may face some struggles but they can still have a normal life style.

I think this is a good video for parents who are expecting a child with down syndrome or who have a child with down syndrome. This is because it shows what parents of a child with down syndrome experience on a day to day basis. It shows their raw emotions and how this impacts them along with the child. This video even goes into depth of what it is like before the birth of the child. I love this video because they really celebrate life and all the milestones little Dylan reaches with living with Down Syndrome.

I like this video because it explains how Down Syndrome will affect a child physically. Then, it goes on to show what they to demonstrate appropriate sensory, motor, and cognitive activities with an overall goal to help these children develop motor skills, language skills, social skills, and self help skill that encourage the highest level of function. It shows specific activities that are being performed and explaining what they will do for the child. For example, this child is using an obstacle course to facilitate basic sequencing, direction following, gross motor coordination, and functional strength and endurance. Activities include movement, learning, and hands-on elements.

I think this is a good video because although it isn't directly related to children, it helps explain what down syndrome is, how to spot it, treatments, etc. It uses a lot of graphics so it is easy to understand. Also, it goes into easy to understand detail about how the syndrome is caused. It explains how a child would be affected mentally and physically. It also explains testing and what treatments health care providers would use to help the child the best they can.

The man who is answering the questions is talking from science and research as he is a doctor but he also has a sister with Down Syndrome so he is talking from experience. I think that this would be a good video to watch for someone who is expecting/just had a child with Down Syndrome because it answers the basics and might help them prepare.

I chose to do Down Syndrome because with Down Syndrome being the most common chromosomal disorder in people, I thought it would be good to educate myself about it. I have met many people with Down Syndrome but I never really knew much about it. But now I have learned many things. For example, Down Syndrome comes with a lot of health conditions, each person with Down Syndrome has a slightly different variation of it, and there are 3 broader types of Down Syndrome.

Down Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21, affects every 1 in 600 to 700 babies. Down Syndrome is caused by an extra chromosome in the 21st pair. It can be detectable in the womb but some symptoms are upturned almond-shaped eyes, smaller hands, bigger head, and smaller ears. There is no treatment but different forms of therapy can be used to help exercise certain things.

This video makes it really easy to understand how Down Syndrome occurs. It goes into detail about when the syndrome is first created and how it progresses. The women who is talking is highly educated as she has a daughter with Down Syndrome. She also comforts parents who have a child with Down Syndrome who may think it is their fault. Down Syndrome can't be prevented with any food, medicines, or herbs, it just occurs. Before watching the video, I wasn't aware that there were 3 types of Down Syndrome. She goes into easy to understand detail which is very educational.

Once again, she explains what Down Syndrome is quickly which gives someone who might not know, some background. Second, she describes the features of someone with Down Syndrome because their is an over-expression of traits and most of them look alike. For example, she talks about their almond-shaped eyes, flat nose, smaller ears, bigger head, thicker neck, oral issues, sandal toe feet, creased palms, thin hair, and a lot of other health problems.

Although it is hard to be sure that a baby has down syndrome in the womb, it can help the family prepare. In this video, the doctors look for certain traits that may help them find the Down Syndrome if the condition is present.

As the cameras follow Rosie around, we are able to watch her day at school and how it compares to our day at school. Instead of highlighting how she is different, they highlight how she is the same. For example, she eats cereal for breakfast, she does art at school, and she can read.
