This Is Our Story Crime Scene Board

You and your partner are detectives trying to solve the murder of Grant Perkins. In order to do so you need to create a crime scene board to organize the people, and evidence, involved.

Your first steps are to set up the crime scene board with the details you already discovered.

Your next step is to be familiar with every inch of the crime, and the crime scene, to write your police report.

Step 4 Crime Scene Police Report

Part 1

Read pages 1-3 of This is Our Story VERY carefully. In fact, it may help you to read it multiple times. Collect every detail of the crime scene.

Here are some guiding questions to think about as you read:

Who was there?
Grant Perkins.

What was the weather like outside?

Humidly cold.

What did the narrator notice?

Grant has died and someone of them killed him.

Who is the narrator?

What other characters were present?

henry, shep, John Michael, Logan

What was the mood of the characters?

Scared, nervous, in denial

How are they reacting?

Despair, scared.

What are they thinking?

That someone else did it.

What information is NOT present in these pages that we really need to know?

Who killed him and why/ why did his phone vibrate.

What minor details may be significant later on in the story.

His phone vibrates, they were on drugs and alcohol. They all handled the gun

Part 2

When you finish, write a 100-word police report briefing that could be published for the community to understand the basic facts of the crime scene.

Report: At approximately 10:31 in bell tear Louisiana I approached the scene with caution. Grant Perkins was found dead on Mr. forests land died by Remington rifle. Four boys are suspected to have been the killer, negligent and the four were under the influence of pot, pills, and alcohol. When interrogated all four boys had said the same thing “I didn't see who had the Remington, the Remington was grant's gun” but after searching the land it was obvious that grant was purposely shot by one of the boys.

Part 1

Based on the descriptions provided by Kate and other sources in the book, peruse the internet to cast famous actors for the parts of each of the characters below. Fill out the chart based on the information you find.

Here are some guiding questions that can help you figure out who to cast:

What does the character look like?
How does the character behave?
What actor have you seen a role similar to this character in another movie or tv show?
What personality traits do these boys have that can be found in the actor you choose

Part 2

Post the pictures of the people involved on your Padlet. Make, and explain, any connections you have discovered about the characters so far.
