There is a lot of racism in the police force against black people such as the recent events like the Breonna Taylor shooting, and George Floyd killing there have been lots of protests to make a change. According to sources it is estimated that 1 in every 1000 black men will be killed by police. The difference with some police in dealing with black people is that they sometimes have false identification, being harsher against black people than white people, and sometimes even killing them. The police first came to my house to investigate false drug claims. Three police broke down my door then my boyfriend Kenneth Walker fired a warning shot hitting an officer in the leg. He thought that they were intruders and that was why he fired the shot. Following that warning shot the three officers fired 32 bullets, at us in which six hit me in the back killing me and none hit my boyfriend who fired the warning shot. According to the police, even though they were there to investigate drugs, the police never ended searching my house. A long time later  they ended up investigating and there were no drugs in my house, it was just a false claim by police. The fact that Taylor and Walker were both black and innocent made many people believe this was an act of racism.

As a way because of those events to try and ensure this never happens again there has been widespread protesting across the country. Surveys have said between 15 and 26 million people participated in these protests showing how big of an issue it is. In these cases the police have not been convicted in any crime which in turn made people protest even more, because many believe if it were a black man shooting a white person they would be sentenced for a long time. The current solution for those cases right now is people protesting in the Black Lives Matter Protests hoping to spark a change. Another solution to this problem is in DC and in Maryland they are changing the law so that officers can not detain people and search their vehicle from the odor of drugs. This helps because there have been many encounters where police have said they smell drugs but find nothing, and just say that because they are suspicious of a black person. In other cases of police brutality and racism there is not clear evidence because officers have had their body cams off. So as an attempt to help, many states have started to try and pass laws to have officers keep them on at all times. Which is another thing the Black Lives Matter protests are protesting about.
