Group 1 what resonates with me isFor example, when I get stuck on a test question and remind myself to slow down and check what the question is really asking, that’s using metacognition. My takeaway is that being aware of how I think helps me learn better and solve problems more easily.

At the beginning of a unit, I ask students to write down what they already know, what they’re unsure about, and what they want to learn. This not only activates prior knowledge but also encourages metacognitive awareness by prompting students to monitor their own learning objectives throughout the unit.

Today’s discussion really made me reflect on how I learn and teach. I realized that metacognition being aware of my own thinking can help me better plan and adjust my learning strategies. I also saw how operant conditioning plays a big role in behavior, and how I can use simple rewards or consequences to encourage positive actions in the classroom. This helped me think deeper about my role as a teacher. My biggest takeaway is that if I stay mindful of how I think and use the right reinforcement, I can help my students succeed both academically and behaviorally.
