Hello my name is Parandzem Oganesian and I live in North Hollywood. My pronouns are she and her. In my free time I enjoy making mosaic knitting art and I have created many paintings with this style that I keep at home.

I am planning to transfer to either UC Davis or UC Santa Barbara because I am drawn to the opportunities at both schools. I especially like the beach near Santa Barbara. I have not yet chosen my major but I hope that by taking this class I will gain more clarity about what direction to follow.

I am excited to get to know everyone and to learn together this quarter.

Hello everyone, my name is Dylan Mara, and I currently live in Vallejo, California. I have been enrolled at Foothill College for 4 years now, and I have changed my major quite a few times, but I have now landed on history, which is what I am moving forward with for my AA. In my free time, I really enjoy watching sports, specifically baseball and basketball. I also enjoy cooking, and I currently work as a chef at a Hawaiian restaurant. I have been cooking for as long as I can remember, and I find it to be a very stress-relieving activity. I find it therapeutic to make food that people can enjoy. I hope to perform better college research after taking this class. Hopefully, after receiving my AA and graduating, I will look to transfer to a CSU, with my sights set on either Long Beach State, San Francisco State, or San Diego State.

Hello everyone! My name is Nathan Reyes and I'm born and raised in south side San Jose. Id say some of my hobbies are going to hardcore "punk" shows with my friends. I enjoy eating food like burger King, Jack in the box is definitely number one. Another thing I'm passionate about is music, I think its a topic anyone and everyone can discuss about without there being a correct answer, right now I'm kinda into an artist named fakemink, pretty sure he's based in London. Anyways as of right now I'm majoring in radiology to become an ultrasound technician/ x-ray technician as well. I don't know if I'll transfer as of right now being as this is my first year. Im currently a barista in a hotel and I love working and I seriously love money!! Overall took this course to better my knowledge for college and gain a better attitude/motivation for school. Hello everyone, my name is Valeria from San Jose. I love listening to music and all kinds of genres. It's my first year attending college and I hope to start meeting new people and build new friendships to further my progress in college. One thing i like to do is change my hair color to all sort of different and wacky colors and time to time do my makeup for fun. Other things I'd consider that I like to do is staying indoors watching shows/movies and staying with my pets, I own a dog and cat. Hi everyone. My name is Marisol I'm from Hayward. This is my second year at Foothill College. I am currently working on my GE classes and looking into enrolling to Foothills vet tech program. I love working with animals especially with marine mammals and my goal is to one day work at the marine mammal center at Sausalito. I have a pet rabbit name Bruce he is 4 years old now and one thing we like doing together is taking naps. A few hobbies of mine is going to monthly hikes with my cousins and music festivals/jaripeos. So far, I've gone hiking to Redwood Loop trail at Santa Cruz, Lake Chabot, Muir Woods National Monument and Point Lobos. My next hiking trip is Yosemite which I am looking forward to since it's going to be my first time visiting. I've only gone to small music festivals, but what I enjoy most are jaripeos is really fun. What I hope to take out of this class is improving my writing and research skills and I wish everyone good luck this quarter.

Hello everyone, my name is Rafael Soto-Ramos. This is my 2nd year here at foothill in pursuit of a Chemistry and/or Public Health Degree. With this degree I am planning to enter the medical or laboratory field so that i can combine both of my passions and help people in my community through various ways. Some of my personal hobbies and interests consist of primarily being in nature. I love camping, going on hikes, swimming, bike riding and exploring new parks. I have two cats, a 4 year old female named Shelby and a 1.5 month old baby male named Booka. I love them both so much. Our favorite thing to do together is cuddle and take naps. I signed up for this class to understand the fundamentals of research. I feel as if I do end up going the laboratory route, a big part of my job is going to be research so this may be a good start towards my profession and academic journey. I look forward to continuing in this course for the rest of the quarter.

Hello everyone, my name is Eduardo Sanchez and I am studying enterprise networking and this is my last quarter at Foothill College. I enjoy going to the beach, going to the gym and trying new restaurants. I am interested in technical databases and platforms that are available at the Foothill library or at other institutions with partnerships. Also, I will be doing a bachelors in mathematics so anything that has to do with Springer publications because I like the way they teach advanced mathematics. I’m also taking my final English class and wish to better research and correctly site publications to enrich my essays. So far I’ve enjoyed using the O’Reilly database provided by Foothill College. It has been instrumental in my success in my cyber security classes, AWS classes, and Linux classes. It also provides for accommodations inside the platform that are currently not offered by the DRC.

I've tried a number of times to record, but the video doesn't seem to be working. Here is the text version of my introduction:

Hi, my name is Kai Lidzborski. I am a concurrent enrollment high school student and have been taking courses at Foothill for several years. I’m hoping to finish an associate's degree in engineering by this spring, at the same time that I’ll graduate from high school. I’ve been exploring some different educational and career pathways, but at the moment, one that attracts me is operations research and optimization. It seems like a blend of a few different fields that interest me, in particular engineering, math, and economics, and it has applications in many disciplines. Before going to a 4-year-university I’m planning to take a gap year. Outside of academics, I like to play Magic: The Gathering and do sports, especially soccer and volleyball. I’ve also run cross-country most years of high school. What I’m hoping to get out of this class is a better understanding of credible resources for research, especially now that there is less oversight over information available online.
