I named the coyote after my own dog so I have a strong connection to and students can have a little more insight into my life too. </p>]]></description>

I always start with a positive for the whole class so everyone gets a shout out. The person getting the shout out chooses a roller coaster or a round of applause to celebrate. </p>]]></description>

Then when the music stops I say "Hands up, Pair up" they have to look around and find the person closest to them to partner with. We always end by telling each other "Thanks for sharing" and then you can start this process over again or end it. </p>]]></description>

I use this time to give announcements and then I ask a new question everyday. We pass a talking piece around and they know to listen to the speaker. They can request topics for the community circle! I have had students request to speak about certain problems and we have a safe place to discuss.</p>]]></description>
