In its classic form, it collects a series of events presented by a narrator that happen to one or more characters that are the ones who perform the actions. It uses prose in its narrative and description forms, it has numerous subgenres, among which the epic, the novel and the short story stand out.
Within its structure you can find: the myth, the fable, the joke, the epic poem, the biography, the memories, the chronicles, the novel, the anecdote, the comic, the newspaper, the story, the news and the story . Although each one presents different characteristics, it shares the type of text and, in structure, they are similar to each other.

Characteristics
In prose, no verse
Uses oral, written and image mode
Purpose: Credibility, not veracity

Author: The sender responsible for the story as a whole. It may or may not coincide with the narrator.

Storyteller: The textual voice created by the author and that tells the anecdote of the story. The narrator can be on the sidelines of events, not being a protagonist, and then it is a third-person narrative.
. If the narrator is the protagonist of the story and narrates it as such or as a witness, we have a narration in the first person.

The history.
The purpose is to tell a story. Be this fictional or real. The narrative is the vehicle of transmission to let others know a certain event.
The ending usually contains a moral, this depends on the author's purpose.
Its elements are:
Action: What happens.
Time: When it happens.
Environment: Where the action takes place:
Real space: Corresponding to an authentic and identifiable place.
Imaginary space: Created from real references.
Fantastic space: Created from the imagination of the author without relation to reality.

Characters: Cause or suffer events:
Stereotypes: When they embody a previously established behavior model: Protagonist: The story revolves around him
Antagonist: The evil character in the story
Secondary character: He has credit in the story, but not as the protagonist
Environmental character: They do not have much relevance in history, but at the same time they complement it
Individual characters: They have their own psychological complexity that differentiates them from the other characters.
