The second problem was solvent distillation: the company had been shipping solvents off site to be recycled, leading to the emission of hundreds of tonnes of toxins per year. Some of their problems, for example the conventional solids paint can be prevented before it takes place by switching to another product, but in the case of the solvent distillation and recycling, the company has to use possibly pollutive chemicals for their manufacturing but by implementing a recycling process they can prevent the possible pollution from being emitted into the atmosphere.
