By gathering different types of media that are related to my topic, I have learned about the historical aspect of marketing, reasonings behind using those themes, and audience reaction. One thing I found interesting was how long ago companies started using this marketing strategy. In the process of my research, I found several ads dated back to 1940s-1960s that used fairy tales in order to persuade the audience into buying their products. Some articles, which are included on this page, gave more insights as to why companies use fairy tales in their campaigns. I learned about audience reaction and what emotions these companies want to get from consumers

I would like to research more about how demographic effects these advertisements. For example how would the a company cater females vs males, or children vs adults? How do they change the plot lines or overall theme of the advertisement in order to appeal to a certain demographic? I would also like to learn about the effectiveness of these advertisements? Does incorporating fairy tales actually make the products more appealing to the consumers? Are consumers more interested in commercials that have incorporated fairy tale themes? Finally, I would also like to find out how ads have changed over time. I would like to find how an ad based on cinderella in the 1940s differs from a similar themed ad in the 21st century.
