Dear Yvette,

I'm writing to amplify the voices of the many, many students with whom you've shared the cultural wealth of Oaxaca. Your award-winning program has been a true gift to those who have participated. Thank you for the many years you've invested in offering this opportunity, and for your hard work to facilitate its continuation with a new faculty team.

With appreciation,

Nancy

Like with Ada, I also met Angie through NACCS. I remember reading her foundational essays in Chicane studies, and found her work so inspiring and transformative. I was surprised and so humbled when she asked me if I would submit a plenary talk I gave at NACCS to be part of an anthology she was working on Chicane studies. I was only a graduate student at the time. Angie is a wonderful mentor, and I'm grateful for what she's done to mentor the next generations of Chicane scholars.

-Raúl Coronado

Dr. Flores is one of the reasons why I pursued a dual degree in Chicana/o Studies. Every lecture with her, was empowering. Her words moved me because she is aware of the adversities children and adolescents can experience at home and through the education system. Because of her homework assignments, I was able to find myself. She made me more conscious of the past that makes me who I am. Also, she is the reason why I was able to experience the wonderful 2023 MALCS institution at UC Davis. She has impacted my life in great ways. Gracias, Professora Flores.

- Teresa S.
