But then he comes to realize that it’s because the germans do not think that Jews are equal but he stays true to his religion and knows that everyone is equal.

•David and his family states that the germans “can do anything” and David knows that it’s not there religion that defines them to be able to do anything but that the government tells them.

•David’s father beats David badly in the book. So then David realizes that all people have some evil in them and it’s not just people who are after the Jewish. To come to this conclusion he realizes that when his father leaves to a labor camp and he misses him and still loves him.

•In the Ghetto were David lived he hear a rumor that the Germans ordered snow to be shoved into a Jews house because it’s was too dirty inside. But David had hope even in the most horrible people that they wouldn’t do that even after everything the germans did.
