The story ‘Abigail the Whale ‘is mostly about “self-acceptance” and the author wants to enlighten   us by giving us a message that “We are what we think” .

Character change summary
Poppy’s feelings, thoughts and actions did transform in the story. First, she was passionate about her dream but lacked determination and assertiveness. And then her failures taught her resilience and  perseverance. With the new approach towards life, she became a go- getter and a lifelong learner.
Thematic summary
The story is mostly about believing in dreams and not giving up on them. The story revolves around how resilience and perseverance helped Poppy to accomplish her dreams.

Next  when things don’t go exactly as he’d planned, Gary is distraught. He tries and tries to get to the leaves himself, but he’s just not tall enough. and  he keeps thinking that when other giraffes can do it — why can’t I? He  doesn’t want to have to ask for help. Then  his friends convince him that everyone needs help sometimes. And that’s OK!.Finally he realises that it is ok to take help when needed .It's not necessary to do everything on our own.

First, Caillou used to watch Sarah go to school and wishes he could go with her. Next, Sarah invites him to visit her school for a day to celebrate little sister or brother day. Then mommy helped Caillou to pack his bag and lunch and dropped the children off the next day. Caillou was excited to try lots of activities but realized that he cannot do whatever he wants to. He noticed that there are a lot of bells and rules at school but they do get time to do fun stuff as well. Finally, when mommy picked Caillou up, he shared his experience and was all ready for an afternoon nap.

Jennifer, being the only Jewish child in her class emphasised her uniqueness by creating a badge for herself - ‘The Only One Club’ badge. She changed in the story when she realised that all her classmates were ‘the only one’ with a certain quality and offered membership to all of them. 

Thematic Summary
This story is mostly about looking for unique qualities in ourselves as well as others. The author wants to tell us through this book that we should cherish our uniqueness.

The story is mostly about the importance of persistence even through difficulty. It shows how Annabelle continues planning her next birthday after her moon birthday flops. The author wants to give us a message that follow your dreams through the setbacks.

birthday on the moon and her dad suggested to have a magician party or a pizza party. But these ideas weren't enough for Annabella so she built a rocket ship but  it didn't work. After this, she hired an astronaut, who rented them a rocket ship and they landed on moon but  her birthday turned into a disaster. Then she decided to stay on the ground  for her next birthday and she made a pirate ship where her friends played all day and it was a success.

Character Summary:
Xan, a kindly witch who lives in a swamp in the middle of the forest, protects the babies offered to her by the people of Protectorate.
Xan chooses to adopt Luna after accidentally feeding her with the moonlight. She adores Luna and showers her with toys and books. 
Xan who is very old and is beginning to feel her age also sets the time of her own death, since Luna’s magic erupting will cause Xan to die. Yet this doesn’t scare Xan at all her only desire is to be able to help teach Luna about magic before she dies. 
Then Xan is able to give Luna enough tools to manage her abilities when Luna’s magic erupts and kills Xan. After Xan’s death, Glerk takes her to the Bog.
Character change summary:
People feared the witch Xan and thus offered her with a baby every year. She was mentored by Zosimos who was aware that Xan forgets things easily. The witch is gentle and she even shares her home with a wise Swamp Monster named Glerk and a perfectly tiny dragon, Fyrian. The baby,  Luna is taken from her family and saved by this  kindhearted witch who lovingly raises her but accidentally imbues her with magical powers. To keep young Luna safe from her own unwieldy power, Xan locks her magic deep inside her. When Luna approaches her thirteenth birthday, her magic begins to emerge on schedule but Xan is far away. Meanwhile, a young man from the Protectorate is determined to free his people by killing the witch. Soon, it is up to Luna to protect those who have protected her even if it means the end of the loving, safe world she’s always known.
Thematic summary: The Girl who Drank the Moon is about judging people without knowing them. Luna, Xan, and the Antain defeat Sister Ignatia by refusing to feed her sorrow. Luna uses her magic to save the city from the volcano's latest eruption. She goes to live with Antain and his family, as well as her mother, who had been imprisoned and driven mad after her refusal to abandon her baby. Xan having weakened as Luna's power grew, dies, and is then escorted by her friend, a beast of the forest, to the bog beyond the forest where the people of the world believe all life originated.

Caillou is a little boy who lived with his parents and wanted to go to day care and play as his parents were about to leave to work. But when his parents were leaving, he was worried that his parent might not return and did not want to play. Gradually he found the place interesting so started playing and making friends. Then he woke up to see his parents were there to pick him up. 

Sequential Summary

First Caillou was excited to go to the day care and carried his teddy along. Next, he realizes that his parents are leaving which makes him worried about their return. He feels sad. Then, he gradually makes friends and learns to socialize after they leave. Finally, he has bonded well with his new friends and the day passes quickly.

Character change 

Caillou changed in the story. First, he was not friendly and then he finds more and more friends willing to play with him so he makes new friends and learns to socialize.

Theme

This story is mostly about importance of socializing, making friends and adjusting in new environment. 

I visualised:
 a sea, sun, an ocean, mother, snail, shrimp, barefoot man sitting near water  and  a curious, happy  and excited girl. I could also visualise a conversation happening between a girl and her mother explaining chain of life in the sea that feeds us.
