The forth session Enhancing reading with AI tools is not an exception and once again I am astonished with the variety of tools such Diffit, Twee, Quizizz, Kahoot, Blooket. The one which impressed me most is quite complicated to name as each of them has variety of benefits. What unites them is a bunch of the features as time-saving, engagement, convenience, confidence and innovation.

Diffit is going to be the most frequently used for the reading skills development as it also includes vocabulary boosting and even grammar knowledge. Today I have been practicing with Diffit a lot. It is efficient in lesson planning, great variety offer to get activities for students and downloaded in various formats. One thing which I haven’t figured out, if the answers are provided. On the other hand, it is not a big problem- other tools can help in this situation.

My promise that Quizizz is also going to be used in my lessons- it is amazing tool for assessment. It is engaging, like game type. It means that it is attractive for students too and this is a proof that assessments can be amusing and enjoyable, not so maybe threatening ;)

I apologize for repeating myself, but I am so happy to have chosen this course.

The webinar I attended was incredibly insightful, and I gained a lot of useful tools that I can integrate into my language teaching. The session introduced several interactive platforms, including Driffit, Kahoot, Twee, Quizziz, and Questionwell. Each of these tools offers unique features that can help create engaging and dynamic lessons, which is something I always strive for in my classroom.

Driffit, for example, allows you to easily adapt content to different reading levels. Most importantly, this tool supports Lithuanian language! This is particularly helpful when working with students who have varied language abilities. I can use it to modify texts, so they’re accessible to everyone, whether they’re beginners or more advanced. It’s a great way to ensure that all students can understand the material and participate in the lesson without feeling overwhelmed.

Kahoot is a fantastic platform for making quizzes more fun and engaging. It uses a game-based approach to testing knowledge, which can encourage students to actively participate. I can create language quizzes on topics we’re covering, and the competitive aspect of the game motivates students to pay attention and learn. This can also be a great tool for reviewing vocabulary or grammar concepts in an enjoyable way.

Twee is another tool that stood out to me. It focuses on building writing skills, which is essential when teaching a language. I can create exercises that help students practice constructing sentences and paragraphs. Twee’s simple interface makes it easy for students to use, and it also allows me to give immediate feedback, which can help them improve their writing skills over time.

Quizziz is similar to Kahoot but offers a more personalized learning experience. It’s an excellent way to track student progress, as it provides reports on how well each student is doing. I can use Quizziz for quizzes or even as a way to reinforce new vocabulary. The platform allows me to create timed quizzes, which adds an element of challenge and helps students practice working under pressure.

Lastly, Questionwell is a great tool for creating open-ended questions that can stimulate critical thinking. I can use it to ask students to reflect on the material we’ve covered in class, or to encourage them to express their opinions in the language they are learning. This can be particularly helpful for developing speaking and writing skills, as students have the opportunity to formulate more complex responses.

Overall, I’m excited to incorporate these tools into my lessons. They all provide unique ways to make language learning more interactive and enjoyable for students. By using these platforms, I can cater to different learning styles and ensure that all my students stay engaged and motivated.

Reflection on enhancing Reading skills with AI tools.

Once again I understand how AI tools can help encourage pupils , this time in Reading Practice . One of the tools I liked most of all is Diffit. Incorporating Diffit into my English lessons has been an exciting and valuable experience. As a tool designed to adapt texts to different reading levels, it has greatly supported my students in developing their reading skills while maintaining engagement.

One of the most noticeable benefits has been the ability to personalize reading materials without spending excessive time modifying texts manually. With Diffit, I can quickly adjust the complexity of an article or story to match my students’ needs while ensuring the content remains meaningful. This has allowed me to challenge advanced students while providing accessible materials to those who need extra support.

Another advantage is the additional resources Diffit generates, such as vocabulary lists and comprehension questions. These have made lesson planning more efficient and have provided students with structured ways to expand their understanding. They also serve as great conversation starters, encouraging students to discuss texts more confidently.

Overall, Diffit has been a great addition to my teaching toolkit. It has made reading practice more inclusive and engaging, and I look forward to exploring more ways to use it effectively in my lessons.

Reflection: Enhancing Reading with AI Tools

Technology is changing the way we learn, and artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a big role in improving reading skills. AI tools help make reading more interactive, engaging, and personalized for students of all ages. These tools can adjust to different reading levels, suggest new words, and provide instant feedback to help learners improve faster.

One of the biggest benefits of AI in reading is personalized learning. AI can track a student's progress and recommend books or exercises based on their level. This means that struggling readers get extra support, while advanced readers can challenge themselves with more difficult texts. AI-powered applications can also read text aloud, helping students with pronunciation and comprehension. AI tools also make reading accessible to a wider audience. Students with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, can benefit from text-to-speech features and special fonts that make reading easier. Additionally, AI translation tools help non-native speakers understand and enjoy books in different languages.

Some useful AI tools for enhancing reading and learning include:

Diffit: Generates leveled reading texts tailored to students' abilities, helping them improve at their own pace.

Twee: Helps create different language exercises, making language learning more interactive and engaging.

Quizizz AI:* Enables the creation of interactive, self-marking quizzes, allowing students to test their understanding in a fun way.*

Google My Maps & ChatGPT:* Supports cultural and geographical learning by allowing students to explore different locations and gain deeper insights through AI-powered explanations.

Despite these benefits, AI should not replace traditional reading methods. Reading with teachers, parents, and peers is still important for developing critical thinking and communication skills. AI is a great tool to support reading, but human interaction and discussion remain key parts of learning.
