At the root of all these problems lies the social policies pursued by the Canadian government toward migration workers for centuries. These policies, based on colonial understanding and discrimination, fuel many other systemic oppression factors such as racism, xenophobia and sexism. The sustainability and efficiency of the Canadian economy will continue to depend on the labour of migrant workers for centuries to come. For this reason, the Canadian government, which gives great importance(!) to values ​​such as human rights, justice and equality, must urgently change its social policies built on the exploitation of migrant workers and eliminate the systemic oppression that forms the basis of these policies. For these policy changes, especially FCJ Refuge Center, Migrant Rights Network and Collaborative Network to End Exploitation are advocating for migrant workers to gain permanent citizen status. #StatusforAll

WomenatthecentrE (WE) works to eradicate violence against women, women-identified, gender queer, 2-spirit and trans-identified people through personal, political and social advocacy. It is the only organization created by survivors, for survivors, and use shared experiences to help change public perceptions and policy.  New comers and Immigrants form part of the members of the organization

WomenatthecentrE  partners with organisations like Newcomer Women Services  to serve the needs of new comers and Immigrants that are affected by Gender Based Violence mainly. These survivors are supported in terms of peer support, Counselling services, resources sharing, webminars and training and  they are given  platform to use their experiences to change public perception and policy.

SistersatthecentrE is a collaboration between Newcomer Women's Services Toronto and WomenatthecentrE. This collaboration aims to support& empower newcomer survivors of GBV on their healing and advocacy journeys! Participants will consist of survivors of GBV or accomplices/allies from the Sisiter2sister cohot. They will be mentored by survivors from WomenatthecentrE. This program will serve as a springboard for accelerating support for Immigrant women who are GBV survivors! The purpose of this collaboration is to support the Sisters in developing forums that will feature the declarations/stories of survivors and highlight the issues and barriers that are currently faced by racialized immigrant survivors of GBV and these are the specific programs offered through the colloboration.

WomenatthecentrE's Membership Program is a free peer network that fosters community and collective healing, and alos offers opportunities to engage in advocacy efforts, After registration, staff connects with members individually to assess risjs, povide safety planning and resources, identify needs and discuss ways we can support. All of our programs/services/initiatives are informed by our members

Our C6 framework revolves around our 12- weeks peer-based counselling program developed around the 6 C's of gender based violence: Context, Consequences, Communication, Care, Culture, Control. This framework is based on our shared undersdtanding that theory , community , and advocacy can be a solid foundation for healing. It involves supporting each survivor through a personalized journey to promote transformative individual and social healing

WomenatthecentrE's Silent No More training is a unique training program developed by and for survivors of gender-based violence.
The Silent No More training program has been designed to
accommodate and be inclusive of all survivors and their
experiences of all forms of gender-based violence. In addition, we have adapted the training to be intersectional, feminist, and anti-oppressive in its approach. As an organization that was created by and for survivors, we strive to use our combined knowledge and lived experience to empower ourselves and our community. The objective of the Silent No More training is to provide survivors with ways to contextualize the violence they experience, such as providing tools and resources for self-advocacy and social
justice skills for survivors to learn and implement when
experiencing or processing violence.

At our location, we have 24 part-time (daytime and evening), and full-time classes, from literacy to level 8 aligning with Canadian Language Benchmarks(CLB) and Portfolio Based Language Assessment(PBLA).  

For now, we have about a total of 350 students in the LINC program.
