My dear dairy,
This was the second day of project. It was amazing and very effective for me. We were very active and energetic. Today we did a lot of great activities. The most useful ones were creating posters and presenting it to our friends. First we created the poster with our group friends about the given topic. We wrote our ideas we shared our opinions. After that teacher asked us to go by the other posters and listen to presenter of the group. It was like a station activity. We went around the groups and we listened our friends. It was very useful and I like it too much. I want to use these activities on my classes to. According to my students level I can make small changes like do not say all the details but just say the main ideas about your topics. It is a great activity to make student both listen and speak so it will be integrated activity for my students to practice more than one skill. Students expose to the different topics and different speaking styles thanks to this technique. It is so useful because students can share their ideas and discuss while preparing the posters. On the other hand they create a their own products and they demonstrate it. When they do that they use the language too much which is very beneficial for them. At the end of the activity we can say that students will be more confident about their ideas and they are more familiar to given subjects or vocabularies or structures. So as a teacher I find it very useful and entertaining to use in my classes. I am so glad to learn new and great activities like that thanks to my teachers.

Today we talked about speaking skill. We used a lot of techniques and activities while learning it. To make students speak as a teacher we should use these ones effectively to make them feel relax and comfortable. I liked all the activities. All of them can be used in the classes but according to students levels. I can use paper slide in my classes. It makes students encouraged because they do not need to show their faces. They just speak about the papers. I can give it as a homework and ask them to work as a group. They will come together and they will share ideas and they will create their own slide. As it is do not require computer or smart phones to create the slides it is more easier for students. They like drawing so they can draw the pictures according to their topics. On the other hand taking a video is very beneficial because they can see their mistakes and they can change it. They can send their videos to the teacher and teacher can watch and evaluate. It is time consuming if teacher give it as a homework. And maybe they can present it in the classroom too. Teacher can give feedback after they have finished. After that they can repeat the activity again. It will be more better. So students will get more clear info and be more confident about their topic.

Today was the 3.day. We learned about teaching reading skill. Moreover we practice lots of activities we have created lesson plans and perform it. We noted different strategies to make reading effective. I learned that reading loud is not related to reading skill. It is more about pronunciation. I didn’t know that and I will not use it anymore in my reading activities. Reading in a silent way is more effective for students. I found sleeping panda useful for young students because it will be more interesting for them. The activity that I want to use in my class is onion ring. It was a very active exercise. First I should give clear instructions to students if they understand the activity it will be more easy for them. I should demonstrate it to make it more clear. After that I will ask students to make circles inner circle and outer circle. They will go one step left with clap. At the end of the activity all the students will have spoken to each other. On the other hand they can learn from their friends and share their ideas. It is a good warming activity for stirring. While they are talking teacher should go around and check the students if they talk or not or what are they talking. Students like moving so it suitable for them. I hope my students also will like this activity.

Today was the 5.day. It was half day so we took just two sections. In this sections we practiced how to make writing skill effective for our students. We learned 3 approaches like product, process and snack. I noticed that I use snack approach more in my classes because we write just short sentences or I ask students to take example and write according to it. So we make short activities about writing. I found process approach effective most because it is more focused on students writing process. Teacher can monitor them when they write. After teacher check she can the draft and students can rewrite it which is very beneficial for students to see their errors or mistakes. In this approach we said that students can write freely. This is so important because if we restrict the students they can feel uncomfortable. So I will ask my students to be relax when they write. Another thing that I like about this approach it is more focus on collaboration and this is the best to make writing more meaningful for students. Another advantage of the process approach teacher can use peer and self correction. By this way they can share their ideas and can edit their writing. With checking their writing will improve. Here teachers’ feedback is so important. Student can make corrections about the feedback. If teacher doesn’t give feedback students can’t see their mistakes. So feedback is the key. So I hope I will use it more in my classes to see it’s advantages.

My dear diary today was a tiring day. But anyway we tried to be energetic. We have learned about teaching grammar and vocabulary. Both of them are important in language teaching. Today I learned flip grammar which I found very good. I can use it for my students. In the classroom we don’t have enough time to do a lot activity to practice. So this technique is very good for time saving. Teacher gives homework to students to study at home. This is so beneficial because students learn according to their speed and it is more student centered. Students learn by themselves which is make leaning more effective. I will ask my students to make this activity and come to class ready. Ib the class I can ask them questions about it check if they completed the homework or not and I can give feedbacks. I can ask them to make peer check too . After checking quickly we will have more time for more activities. This means that students will practice more and learn better. It will be more advantageous for both students and teacher. So I thinks it is a nice technique to make student more autonomous. I am planning to apply it more for my classes.

My dear diary I am sorry to write late to you. I will talk about yesterday. Yesterday we talked about assessment of skills. I realized good techniques and I took them note. The most thing I that like was creating criteria for assessing. I found it very beneficial and I will use it in my test to be more objective. When I use criteria it will be more clear for me to identify the things about students skill. On the other way when I use it I will be more relax. Because I know what did I give note or what it the exact success about every students skill. For example writing is a productive skills and generally it is open ended. So when I use some rules for assessing for example five points for vocabulary five point for grammar. Then it will be more efficient. For speaking generally I get confused to mark them if they are good at speaking or not. This way will make my work easier. I can focus on the criteria that I have written and assess them according to it. My classrooms are generally crowded but I want to try it and see if it is works.
