This was the most difficult project of the year for me. It took a long time to complete and it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but I appreciate it because it took this much work: a lot. This project was supposed to look like a Victorian house with two stories and a cylindrical tower. The first time I made the lower story out of stiff slabs it was not structurally sound and ended up cracking and drying out. So, I made a new one and it ended up kind of working. The top story or a cube with a roof was well made but somewhat heavy. I was afraid that it would crush the lower story but it did not. Also, the cylindrical tower was easy to make but I wanted it to fit snugly in a cut-out piece of the house but that didn't work. So I tried to cut notches in the cylinder to connect it to the house more seamlessly. That didn't work either and the half of the cylinder I cut fell off and I kept it that way. So, the half of the cylinder is kind of like the lid. I wanted to cut a lid in the top structure or story but it was too wonky to do that. The cylinder also had a cone one top but since the cylinder is a half, I made the cone a half of a cone. Surprisingly, glaze actually glued it to the cylinder well. Another problem happened while firing on the top cube when air cracked the side. This happened because part of the slab was added after I made the cube and it was not well made. The glazes I used included pain black, yellow, black ice, some kind of crystal blue, and royal fantasy. The hardest part of the glazing process was trying to glaze the entire project without any white spots. I went so far with the glazing that some of the glazes started to over lap. This project was a nightmare.
