Tshegofatso has made wonderful progress with his fine motor skills! He enjoys working with peg boards and creating fun patterns. Although he is not very fond of the texture of playdough, he is willing to try it with a little support. He also demonstrates a good pencil grip, which will benefit him as he continues to grow and explore new activities. Keep up the great work!

Tshegofatso really enjoys playing with balls and taking part in activities that help him grow strong and healthy. He loves to run, jump, and hop, and he does a great job balancing so he can land on his feet without falling. Jumping on the trampoline is one of his favourite things to do because it makes him feel happy and excited.

On Wednesdays, he has a wonderful time at Buzzi Bodies, where he tries different activities to keep moving and have fun. He enjoys using a bat to hit a ball, which helps him develop his hand–eye coordination. He also finds the hula hoop fascinating and loves playing with it, as it further supports the development of his gross motor skills.

Tshegofatso is a star who loves learning about shapes and colours! He enjoys using flashcards to identify different shapes, such as circles, squares, and triangles. When he sees a blue circle or a green square, he happily names the colours and shapes. Watching him sort colours is amazing, as he matches them perfectly. He has grown so much in his ability to recognise these important concepts. Although he is non-verbal, he still finds ways to demonstrate his understanding and show what he knows. Using his eyes and hands to point out shapes and colours, he continually surprises us with his understanding. It is wonderful to see his excitement as he learns and grows. Keep up the great work!

Tshegofatso has a wonderful love for nursery rhymes and often repeats them, no matter how different they might be. He enjoys listening to his friends in class as they learn and sing together, and sometimes the fun words and melodies stick with him, leading him to repeat them throughout the day. Being with his friends makes him happy, but when the environment becomes too loud or energetic, he likes to find a quiet spot to take a little break and enjoy some peace. This shows how he is developing his auditory perceptual skills—listening carefully, learning from others, and recognising when he needs time alone to recharge. His journey with nursery rhymes is not just about fun; it is also an important part of his learning and growth.

Tshegofatso has made great progress in art! He is beginning to really enjoy finger painting, a fun way to create colourful pictures using just his fingers. He also enjoys painting with brushes and is improving in his use of different materials. Although he does not try new textures every week, it is wonderful to see him gradually experimenting with items such as sand or fabric to make his artwork more special. This creativity reflects both his learning and enjoyment as he explores different ways to express himself through art.

Tshegofatso really enjoys music, particularly Afrikaans songs, which inspire him to dance and move his body. When he hears different beats, he can’t help but show off his best dance moves! Singing along, even without music, brings him joy and happiness. It is wonderful to see how music encourages him to express himself through dance, creating a lively and fun atmosphere full of rhythm and excitement.

Tshegofatso loves coming to school! He can say goodbye to his mommy and daddy without feeling sad. When he arrives in class, even though he does not talk much, he shows us what he wants through his actions. He is doing a great job with potty training and has grown so much.

He is also very interested in his classmates and enjoys playing and learning alongside them. His smiles and signals show that he is happy to be at school. Every day, he becomes better at sharing and having fun with his friends. Keep up the great work, Tshegofatso!

Tshegofatso has been making amazing strides in his literacy skills! He knows his phonetic sounds very well, even if he sometimes feels shy about saying them aloud during exercises with his teacher. Tshegofatso loves working with numbers! His favourite activity is packing the number blocks from 0 to 10. He knows the numbers very well, and when they are mixed up, he consistently puts them back in the correct order, demonstrating a strong understanding of counting and number recognition.

It is heartwarming to see him enjoy counting, even when he thinks no one is listening. Hearing him count brings joy to his teacher, as it reflects not only his love for numbers but also his growing confidence. He is developing strong numeracy skills that will support him as he continues to learn and explore the world of Mathematics.

This year has been an incredible journey, filled with joy and fulfilment, as I have had the privilege of being Tshegofatso’s teacher. Witnessing his remarkable development and transformation has been truly heartwarming and rewarding, reinforcing the profound value of teaching every day.

When we first met, he preferred solitude, often spending time in the sunroom by himself. However, over the months, he has blossomed into a confident little boy who now enjoys the company of his peers. This transition has been a profound experience, illustrating the beauty of personal growth and the power of connection.

His journey is a testament to resilience and openness to change. His willingness to step out of his comfort zone and embrace new experiences with others has been inspiring. Observing him engage through music and participate at the tables has been a source of immense pride and satisfaction.

Tshegofatso has made wonderful progress this year. Our main focus has been on helping him feel settled and confident in the classroom while supporting the development of his English, Mathematics, and Life Skills. It has been rewarding to see his growing engagement and ability to concentrate during learning activities. Although he is not yet able to express himself verbally, he demonstrates clear understanding through his participation, responses, and interactions. He is also showing encouraging development in his Additional Languages, even though he is not yet expressing himself in these areas. We are very proud of his efforts and ongoing growth.
