Hey Grandma, it's Rena. I miss you, and I miss you more than you could ever know. It's been a rough couple of years without you. I miss getting to see you every Sunday after church. I miss getting to hear your voice when you sing. But most of all, I miss telling you about my day and you telling me how dramatic I am.

I remember everyday you reminded me to brush my hair, and I never did. So you would constantly throw a brush at me until I actually brushed my hair. Now, not a day goes by that I don't brush my hair. Every time I brush my hair, I think of every time you threw my brush at me. I will always thank you for the condition of my hair now. So, thank you for that!

I would also like to thank you for being brave. You were brave enough to come to America from Western Samoa and started our family here. I don't know where I would be or even if I would be here today if it weren't for you. Because of you, I get to experience the best days and I get to enjoy them as well.

The last thing I would like to thank you for is taking care of my dad. I know my dad didn't have the best parents at the time he was still growing to become a man, and still trying to figure out his life. He didn't need a dad when he had you to support him in life. I appreciate your hard work because now my dad is of course the best dad on Earth. Also, if you didn't raise my dad so well, my mom probably wouldn't have fell in love with him. So I'd like to thank you once again.

My memories of you are filled with laughter and happiness and nothing less than that. I remember all the great food you made. I would always lie to my other grandmas about how good their food was, but yours was actually the best that I have ever tasted. I still haven't found anyone who could make good food like you. My dad is still coming up close but he's not there yet.

I will always remember every day that you came to my house and played cards with my other grandma. It was like a little play date for you two. I enjoyed hearing you laugh with her because I knew you were happy. I also loved the moments when she would catch you cheating. Those were the funniest conversations ever.

To end this letter, I would like to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not seeing you that night in the hospital. I was being really stubborn that night and I thought myself before thinking of you, and how you may never get to see me again. I should've seen you after my softball practice. I can't forgive myself unless I see a sign that you forgive me. I regret not saying goodbye to you everyday that I remember that you're not here. I wish that I could go back in time and change something. I want to see you again and I want to be with you again. I would do anything to just hear your voice, see your smile, or feel your heartbeat again. I hope you realize that I love you and I'm very sorry grandma. I'll see you later and fly high <3
