The IRS is a novel of your choosing outside of our curriculum.
In your text book you will find IRS choices listed for you in Unit 2 on page 436 and in Unit 3 on page 608 .  The book that you choose is one that you will read out side of the curriculum so it can NOT be The Cay or Walk Two Moons.   Periodically during the unit , you will  be quizzed on your reading. Make sure for the quizzes that you have the exact title and author of your book.   
If for whatever reason, you do not want to read one of the choices provided by our book, you may choose one from the list attached.
My bottom line for an IRS is
1. A book that you have not read in past.
2. A book that challenges you as a reader.
3 A book that is ok-ed by your learning coach.
