The city of Banda Aceh on the northern tip of Sumatra was the closest to the powerful earthquake's epicenter and the first waves of the tsunami arrived in 20 minutes. Nearly impossible to imagine a 100-foot roiling water engulfed the coastal city within minutes. Insanely killing 100,000 men, women and children. Buildings began to fold like pieces of card, cars were swept up. Police were the main services that arrived at the scene, The police had to identify thousands of bodies, so they had the most difficult job of all the services who attended.
