Today, we often work collaboratively with our teams or those closest to us. Focussing on everyone moving in the same direction, sharing knowledge and getting on the same page.

But we need to reach co-created outcomes. That means bringing together unique perspectives, skills and experiences, and breaking away from thinking of work as belonging to one function or another. Making the space to do things differently.

That’s what it means to work as One LEGO Team.

Agile coaches x LTP Integration (Mads)

What team did you engage with?

Representatives from the Agile Coaches.

What were you trying to achieve together?

Together we're trying to integrate and raise awareness about playful working in the sessions and workshops that Agile coaches facilitate.

What activities did you do together?

We did two brainstorming sessions, identifying opportunities and low-hanging fruits. Still more sesssions to come.

What was the outcome of the collaboration and what did you learn from it?

Not finalized yet but we're moving ahead with ideas on how we can connect play and playful working with the work that Agile coaches already do.

People Leader onboarding - Capability Builder (Mads)

What team did you engage with?

The L&D team that is devleoping the Capability Builder.

What were you trying to achieve together?

Stronger links to play and play characteristics in the content of the different Capability Builder modules.

What activities did you do together?

I'm acting as SME (subject-matter-expert) for the L&D team with a specific lens on LTP, which mean I review the content and mark up where there is an opportunity to connect the content with LTP.

What was the outcome of the collaboration and what did you learn from it?

The Capability Builder is a big program with much content so in this case it's a matter of calling out LTP and creating the link back to LTP where it makes sense.

LTP module for Foundation Builder (Mads)

What team did you engage with?

L&D team that is developing Foundation Builder.

What were you trying to achieve together?

LTP introduction to newly hired people leaders.

What activities did you do together?

I create a 60 min module that is to be implemented as part of the Foundation Builder.

What was the outcome of the collaboration and what did you learn from it?

I learned that if we don't do it, there is a risk LTP doesn't get elevated, in this case, into people leader onboarding. At least not in a structured way.

L&D toolkit (Mads)

What team did you engage with?

L&D team that created the L&D toolkit (for all professionals at TLG that are creating learning content)

What were you trying to achieve together?

Guidance on how to integrate LTP into learning experiences within TLG.

What activities did you do together?

Co-creation on content for the L&D toolkit.

What was the outcome of the collaboration and what did you learn from it?

The outcome was some new pages with information about LTP, links to LTP resources and a design template that helps colleagues integrate more LTP into learning content. I learned that we (EPE team) has anm important role when it comes to integrating LTP in L&D.

Year end meeting with Save the Children

What team did you engage with?

A team of 5 from Save the Children DK plus our 2 LEGO lead volunteers.

What were you trying to achieve together?Evaluate our 2023 partnership and brainstorm on a potential 2024 partnership

What activities did you do together?

4-hour meeting. Started by aligning expectations for the day through a playful activity. Leading brainstorm session with sailboat-theme on the wall. Finishing off by all writing postcards from the future to each other looking back at our partnership in 2024. Bringing in 2 other colleagues during the day for short input-session on agile working and child involvement.

What was the outcome of the collaboration and what did you learn from it?

A lot of good energy on the partnership. Bringing new ways of working into our collaboration. A lot of inputs and ideas for Save the Children to work on the final proposal for our partnership in 2024.

I learned that it takes time to plan ltp in a meeting in a meaningful way - but the time spend on this is a good investment.

Kick off the Sounding Board session for Play Day 24

two exercises at the start of 2 hours meeting to introduce each other in a funny way, sharing something different from usual, and to set expectations for the meeting by using the digital reflection tool with bricks. It really worked as we showed them what is playful working at TLG by walking the walk

2024 will bring a collaboration where the formula of Play Ground Builders plus Play agents yields a more playful culture.

EPE and LP working together to create a playful comms campaign that promotes each as part of the global force.

S&T Team "on-boarding" (FAP)

ask was for: where did the play activity you were doing came from? are there other similar play activities that teams can use (i.e. in our Strategy Partner offsite) or someone I could reach out to? Answer: --> Play Your Part // there you find a bunch of plug-and-play activities (you can filter on the need you have etc.) for suggestions, there are also some playlists for specific purposes that people have mostly need for

--> sign up for a Play Agent course (on Workday or via Courses (playyourpart.com )). EVERYONE should be encouraged to do this, but we also had it as an internal KPI in CA and PO&D for 2023 as we should role model for the rest of the org. You will learn the basics of Learning through Play and how you can bring elements of this to workplace, home and community!

Playday Kick off with agency(Line)

We had a kick off with the agency for Play Day and just wanted to start off in a LEGO spirit. So we used the online reflection tool to build hearts and share what about the heart. (Building what fills their heart with gratitude and joy)
