- Choose to teach the students grammar to help them know about a way to communicate with others about a real in-life topic that intrigues them rather than make grammar the point of the lesson.

- Before presenting the students with the grammatical situations, engage the students with an interesting, relevant passage/question/topic to get the students to be more involved with it. Provide easy, familiar examples from the familiar context before associating and explaining the grammatical situation in both L1 and English.

- In groups or pairs, ask the students to try to discuss their thoughts and figure out the structure of the grammar in the provided examples from the context before solving together once they are done. Explain the rules afterwards with examples from the context.

- OR Give out the grammatical rules and explain them before asking the students to identify the structure on a worksheet with the help of the examples from the context to assess their understanding of it.

- Emphasize the grammatical situations where the focus should be on accuracy in academic English or fluency in spoken English, focus on the fact that the English language can be flexible too.

- Present the differences in usage of the grammar situation in informal and formal situations for the students through examples.

- Use interactive, appealing activates to ensure the students will not only hear and read, but also use the grammatical structure in different contexts, formal & informal, spoken & written, alone & in groups.

- Start teaching the lesson by telling them they'll be learning about grammar.

- Be inflexible or insensitive to the students' wishes and questions while explaining the grammatical lesson.

- Ask the students to listen quietly and lecture them about grammar.

- Make grammar the point of the lesson.

- Teach grammar through a random, boring topic that the student do not want to hear about.

- Give all the information through explanation without letting the students do anything on their own. "Spoon feeding it to them," as the saying goes.

- Refuse to provide examples and rules.

- Ignore relevance to L1.

- Think practice is the only way for students to stop making grammatical mistakes.

- Use an unbalanced way of teaching only through explanations without giving the students the chances to also read, listen, and use grammar in any context.
