On a fairly grey day the colours caught my attention as they really stood out against the surroundings. I liked the way that they resembled bubbles and the wording "Freedom" on some of the buoys. The composition is very simple but effective with the buoys seeming to tumble towards the viewer. All images on the Huawei P20 smart-phone are stored on internal Sim card and backed up to cloud storage.

Evening view of Ponte Vecchio, Florence, taken just after sunset from the next bridge. The original shot is wider but unfortunately captured a couple of construction cranes on the RHS hence the cropped image is a little off centre. I like the reflection of the road lights in the river and the general mood and colours of the image.  All images on the Sony HSC-HX400v are stored on internal Sim card and backed up to cloud storage and PC.

I came across a pile of cut logs following a tree fall in the recent winds. The shot is obviously simple but that's exactly what I like about it. The rings, knots and cracks create a unique flowing weathered pattern. I've done a little post processing to enhance the natural colours (but not too much). H&S note... I wasn't really thinking so much about composition on this shot, I just wanted to capture a still of the waves crashing on the rocks off Bamburgh beach. Taken early morning just down from the Ponte Vecchio bridge. It was the first shot of the day and taken quickly. The high shutter speed (1/500s) catches the swirl of the water left by the oars on the backstroke. I also wanted to capture the reflected image of the buildings on the opposite bank with the rower cutting through. Taken late afternoon with the sun casting shadows on the stone work creating another fairly abstract form this time with muted colours. Some minor LightRoom post processing to bring out the shadow and the texture of the stone. Taken from the pavement giving a very low vantage point to exaggerate the shape of the building. Taken inside the museum which was quite dark. requiring a higher ISO setting. The external lighting is creating helpful shadows exaggerating the facial features. The shot was taken on a bright day from the lane at the back of the Peth. Unashamedly personal shot of my son and his best man enjoying a cigar after his wedding ceremony. Best friends since early childhood the shot sums up the emotions & joy of the day. Using manual settings, the short focal length blurred the background and brought the subjects into sharp focus. It important to be aware of slip and trip hazards, mud, water etc, especially when distracted by the view. Also of putting your camera bag down and creating a trip hazard. 
If going to somewhere remote or rural, I would let someone know where I was going, check the weather, and fully charge my phone in case of emergencies
I would also check on tide times if near tidal water, and always be aware of escape routes
Its also important to keep track of how long I spend in front of my PC or laptop screen, and take regular breaks, perhaps 5-10 minutes every 60 minutes. This is especially important when editing images.

Ethical considerations...
Although members of the public do not need a permit to photograph in public and police have no powers to prevent photographs being taken, it is always both polite and best practice to ask permission from the subject.
Copyright of any photographs taken in the UK belongs to the person who created the image, the copyright lasting until 75 years after their death, when it moves into the public domain. However, these rules vary across the world.
