Symphonic Orchestra Performance

A lot of the musical pieces that are performed today by some great orchestra groups, are made a long time ago. Even over a hundred years. The songs that were made during the classical times are ones that will always be played around the world in different venues and never stop. These pieces are what are being tough to multiple music classes today to show where music comes from. Pieces from great composers like Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and many more, will continue to transcend throughout time and will always be apart of history.

How Going to The Concert Made Me Feel

I found the concert quite enjoyable. I usually don’t listen to classical music and I never thought I would find this piece entertaining. I began to get interested into the symphony in “The Seven Ages” section. I found it to be very successful because of how it was set up. The piano solo started it off then a variation of other instruments began to come into the fray. The variations of the instruments usage really drew me into the piece. This is where I began to really pay attention to what was going on. During this part, I could hear all the different dynamics and contours that was going on in the just this part of the symphony and I could really feel what was going on. “Continuing with more variations in a broad range of moods and textures, the symbolic odyssey of "The Seven Stages" leads to a hectic, though indecisive, close" (www. leonardbernstein.com).

Going to this concert made me understand Western Art music even more. It allowed me to understand how classical music can transcend through time.
