Ancient Wisdom includes any references to an ancient civilizations and their practices, as well ancient knowledge and ancient beliefs. It’s illogical to think that ancient civilizations had more knowledge, or any special powers more advanced than modern-day science.
CONNECTION:
This video demonstrates and debunks the red flag about the end of the world on December 12, 2012.

Proof of Verbosity includes long, complex arguments presented in a poor manner to which the listeners simply accept the argument. These convoluted arguments usually take up too much time and effort to debunk. The authors of these arguments usually use large words to confuse and distract people from the real truth.
CONNECTION:
This article titled, "Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Nuclear Power", an an example of Proof of Verbosity. The author uses many non-factor arguments to try to get you to oppose nuclear energy as a viable energy source. Many of these arguments are could be true, but it would take a lot of capital and research to debunk any of them.
http://web.archive.org/web/20041204054455/http://www.nirs.org/nukerelapse/background/toptenreasons.htm

Red Flag: Red Herring

A Red Herring is an argument that serve as a distraction, where the argument may go off topic to attempt to persuade and influence those listening. In some cases the argument may attack individuals instead of staying on topic.
CONNECTION:
This video exemplifies a red herring in politics perfectly. During the 2008 Presidential Election between John McCain and Barack Obama, this commercial was released, approved by President Obama. The commercial starts by asserting that John McCain lacks a basic understanding on the current economic system. Instead of backing this claim the Obama campaign dragged the commercial to a completely different direction, shifting the focus to John McCain himself and the number of homes he owns. Many expect to hear some facts, but instead, it is a personal attack on the opposing party.

The "All Natural" red flag claims that that there are mainstream ingredients that claim to be healthy. Some products may claim to be "All Natural", when they contain a long list of preservatives. When used on processed foods, there is a long list of ingredients that makes All Natural open for interpretation.
CONNECTION:
This picture shows the difference in the making of organic and naturally made meats. It shows what is allowed and not allowed in the two different kinds of meats. Just because it says natural does not mean it is healthy.

Red Flag: Ideological Support

Ideological support is where there are moral, ethical, political claims that would be supports because of their stance on the subject. These claims are made strictly on ideology alone, with very little amount of science to back up the claim.
CONNECTION:
This video is a short part of a documentary called, "Fluoride, Poison on Tap". This documentary shows people claiming that fluoride in drinking water is dangerous for peoples health and has no benefits. As an individual who studies in the Water Quality Technician program, this is a false argument. Fluoride in drinking water is a hot topic in local politics, where municipalities vote if there should be fluoride added into local drinking water. It is not harmful in drinking water, especially at the concentration it is added.

This is a human instinct that makes images look more important than they are.
CONNECTION:
This is one example of patternicity. Some people will only see a duck at first glance. Others will see a rabbit. It all depends on ones point of view.

To this day, it is one of the world's great unsolved archaeological mysteries. More than 300 stone spheres have been located in Costa Rica near the Diquis Delta. These spheres are man-made, igneous rock scultpures found all over the Island. the truth about these ball has been a mystery since their first signting in the 1940's.
