A great example like this would be the dust bowl in the early 1900s, where farmers uprooted the natural grass of that region that held the soil in. The farmers made lots of momey off of wheat, and this wasn't a problem until a drought. Researching more about this, it is due to other farmers having to lower their price to compete to sell their product against ours. This then depletes the local production in the country.
