I was young when reality set in. I realized that not everybody was nice, nor could I trust them. As I progressed through elementary school, I began feeling fatigued. I was drained by the end of the school day, which wasn´t normal. I also frequently began sulking in my room. I didn´t know why I felt this way, and I thought I couldn´t do anything about it. I advanced to 5th grade, only to feel severely unsatisfied. I thought I couldn´t do it. It was awful, I felt awful. But, now as I´m growing up, I´m beginning to realize that if I don´t do something, then who else would? It´s nobody's responsibility to take care of me, so I might as well do it, and make the best of it while I can. Sure, I still feel bad at times- scratch that, most of the time- but I still muster up the force to keep going.

How does this relate to the theme?

It takes so much courage to keep pushing on, no matter what happens, no matter how badly you´ve been pushed down, no matter how discomforting it is. It takes so much strength to keep going, for others, and for myself.

I was saying that I have a lot of emotional strength, but I never mentioned my physical strength. I was never into sports, even though I tried very hard to fit in, I just didn´t manage to compete with the others. I always was undermined because I am a girl. I never tried after that. I just didn´t feel like dealing with that, so I never enrolled in any type of sport up until now. Just a week ago, on August 9th, 2021, I enrolled in a swim team. I put myself out there again, but I haven´t swum in a long time, so you could imagine how sore I felt after the first day. Today, August 17th, 2021, I am still behind. I can´t swim as fast as the others. So far, I´m the slowest. However, I don´t mind, I´m doing the best I can.

How does this relate to the theme?

It shows how little physical strength I have. I can barely swim, let alone push weights. But as long as you try, it doesn´t matter how badly you do.

Now to wrap things up, I must mention one more important note of being strong. Forgiving and forgetting. It is an incredibly hard deed to accomplish. Not everybody can do it, nor are they obligated to do so. In most cases of my life, I feel better just forgiving them and forgetting. Mainly because my life has barely started, and we were all very young. I understand as time goes on, things might get worse. I mean that as in if I were to be wronged, of course. Such as life. I can hold on to those grudges against those people who wronged me in the past for all of my time here... or I can let it go, and feel the weight of all those sour emotions get left behind. It isn´t worth it to hold on. The remembrance of the past isn´t exactly the same situation. When you remember things, you see your own version of it, and the laughter echoes only in one's mind. As you progress through life those sorrowful memories can affect how you interact with society. So if you feel like holding that resentment to people, you feel hostile to the world. Forgiving doesn´t happen overnight, it takes months, maybe even years. So if you take strides to do so, you´re changing for the better.

How does this relate to the theme?

Talking about forgiveness is a hard thing to do for many people. They choose to not pardon petty situations from their experiences through life, when in reality, it is the best option to do so, to feel improved. Not many people can do it because they feel the process will repeat, and the cycle of being hurt will continue. It´s a defense mechanism, but a dreadful one at best.
