Before COVID-19, nobody was used to work with technology and we never imagine that things will change completely from one day to another. I reflect on how we as teachers need to be ready for everything. From learning how to create online meetings to adapting the whole class in the computer. We know for sure that for kids this is simple but for adults it takes more time. That is why we need to keep updated. Nowadays, you cannot say I don´t know what a PDF is. It is a must. There are a lot of advantages with techonology for example now, you don´t need to buy a book if you can´t, you will probably find it on the internet. We have to provide them these solutions during class time. I totally love this era, I think it came to simplify everything. Even though some teachers will have to get used to it, including me, the true is that is part of our profession and being positive, changes are always a good oportunity to innovate and to keep students entertained. When I start working remotely I have to confess that I was terrified but now I am cool as a cucumber and I wouldn´t change it at all.

it is undeniable that we are living in a digital era. As teachers, we have adapted to the new changes and acquired new skills in order to meet today's demands on education. The outbreak of COVID-19 forced us to resort to technology to keep the teaching-learning process going. Even those teachers who had always been reluctant to the new technologies had no choice but to start using them, unwillingly though.
Not only has technology provided us with endless resources and useful tools to make the teaching-learning process more effective, but it also has changed our role as teachers. We have become skill developers, resource providers and digital intructors. A clear example is the use of google classroom or when we instruct our students how to creat a padlet and share content. The role of learner has also changed. Classrooms are now learner-centered and students have become more autonomous.

Bravo Santiago

Digital technology has so far had a positive impact on language learning. It helps students to create an organised studying routine, practice language at any time or location as well as integrating the target language into everyday life. Electronic devices also allow students to practice several skills at once, to stay focused, and to feel comfortable participating in class activities. Another important aspect of using online devices in classrooms is the development of interpersonal and collaborative skills among students.
Digital technologies allow EFL teachers to prepare authentic materials for learners while easily guiding them through the different stages of learning a foreign language while keeping them engaged.

I didnt´t know to use anything and with the help of colleagues i managed to did it. In my classes i don´t use devices often but in primary school the computers are very useful for children. I think that they learned more quickly to use the tecnology and most of them did it in the pandemic. The technology allow students to learn and apply different tools in their classes and signatures, the teacher send them the activities and they can did them in the same computer, for example the tool "the classroom"., is more usefull for students.

Fanny Raspo

These kids are used to work with technology, they have access to books which come with extra online practice.
Learning a language in this environment is easier, technology makes a bit easier the process, though I believe classes are overcrowded and it can be difficult sometimes.
I'd love something similar could happen in public funded schools.
Laura Hueso

Teaching 21st-century learners has been an enriching experience that has required me to evolve as an educator. It's a dynamic journey of embracing technology, fostering critical skills, and nurturing global citizens who are prepared to thrive in our ever-changing world. Since I graduated as a Teacher in 2004 I have never stopped learning how to improve my lessons. I think that the students that are nowadays in our classrooms are not the same as the ones we were in our times at school. So, it is very important to learn and know how they feel how they learn, how they think, and how to reach them in the best way. I have been always fond of technology, so I am looking for new tips every day! Students in my classes are digital natives, they were born with technology and sometimes I prepare a class with something new and they tell me "Teacher, There is an app to do exactly the same" (heheh), and some other times they know a lot but they need my guidance to learn how to use technology that helps them develop their effective technological skills.
Apart from that, I think that there was a time before and a time after the "pandemic" when we had to adapt our homes to work, study, and survive and we can not come back to the "time before" but complement teaching in a hybrid learning.

The role of today´s learners and teachers in the Digital Age is an active role. Both teachers and learners need to be actively involved in the process of learning by means of the use of technological devices and tools. Teachers need to provide students with the necessary environment in which they can immerse themselves through the use of computers and mobile phones. There should be collaborative work between teachers and students, and also between students so that the creation of knowledge and critical thinking skills can be fostered. As you can see in the picture, this is a new kind of classroom, in which both teachers and students are interacting constantly mainly through the use of computers and technological tools. This process is so meaningful because students not only benefit from what the teacher explains but they also benefit from the use of technology and become skilled in the use of technological devices and tools, which is of course beneficial for their future life in society.

These pictures aim at illustrating different situations where technology is involved in the classroom. The first one shows students using a cellphone to take a selfie of themselves with the teacher, and this teacher trying to take out the phone in question. This picture illustartes how technology is not only present in all classrooms, but also how students demand it to be present and used with learning purposes. That is, technology has become the inevitable.

The second picture, a much simpler one, shows a teacher using technology, but in the "traditional" way: technology used to give a presentation/lecture about a specific topic. Although its use may be correct and appropriate for the class, this century requires teachers to go beyond using technology only to show a presentation about a certain topic. Technology should be used for more purposes, and students should be engaged, and encouraged to interact with and through technology as well.

The third picture shos¿ws a teacher who uses technology as a mediator in the pedagogical encounter student-teacher. That is, the class takes place through an online platform. In this case, it may be much easier for the teacher to incorporate technology into the class, since the class itself takes place in this online context. It may be much more challenging to use technology when the classroom conditions do not guarantee the correct access to it, and this is the situation of many teachers in many of our schools around the country.
