         <description><![CDATA[<div>An idea that living things come from non-living things. An experimental test with sterilized broth. Boiling the broth or other liquids, kills microbes. This test has two containers one sealed and both over a heating source. After a while, the sealed one stayed sterile and the unsealed turned cloudy with microbes. Germ-theory advocates believe that the sealed container stayed sterile because germs couldn´t get in. Spontaneous generation advocates believe that the unsealed container had the right conditions for the growth of spontaneously generated microbes. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>He was looking into an outbreak of cholera.Cholera is a diarraheal illness but it was unknown back then. He found the source of the outbreak it was a water pump being contaminated by a leaking cesspit. Cesspits are one place that water from toilets ends up. The two problems that Snow faced was trying to classify bacteria and he didn't know that Cholera was caused by Bacteria. A huge advancement in the study of infectious diseases.</div>]]></description>
