Ally Condie (example by Mrs. Furniss)

The author I would like to share with you is Ally Condie; she wrote the Internationally best-selling trilogy Matched. I was surprised to see how many more books this author has written. I had never heard of some of her other works that were listed on her website: Summer Lost or Enthralled although Atlantia is definitely a book I have been wanting to read. Many of the books look really amazing! I think this was my biggest surprise I simply wasn't aware she had so many other books. I am going to add them to my Books to Read list.

Another surprise I noticed as I was reading from her official website: http://allycondie.com/ is she tends to write books that include some sort of romance mixed with some dystopian fantasy similar to The Hunger Games or Divergent series. I think many of the girls would enjoy reading her books. Although, I do think there are books that boys would enjoy as well such as her book Freshman for President.

Probably the biggest surprise I found while learning about this author is that she has a writing camp designed just for teens!!! The kids work alongside real authors and takes place is in Utah. I thought this was pretty neat.

One reason I think Ally Condie may have chosen to write the trilogy Matched is because the dystopian novel seems to be pretty popular right now. However, I did notice that the main character, Cassia, loves to run, and on Condie's website, she talks about her love for running. So, I think she must have based her main character's love of running off of herself. I always wondered if author's base any of their character's or stories around their own life.

I am glad I read about her because now I want to see if she has based any other characters or settings off of her own life. I hope you'll check out her books too! Happy Reading!!!

By: Ayden Roach

The author I am presenting to you is Margret Peterson Haddix. She is my favorite author ever. She has one of the best series ever in my opinion, which is the Among the Hidden series.

I was surprised to find out that Margret grew up in Ohio which is where I use to live for a few years. I was also kind of surprised about her living on a farm, but I'm also not surprised. The reason I'm not as surprised is because in the Among the Hidden series the main character lives on a farm with his dad mom and 2 brothers. I was also surprised when I learned that her mother was a nurse.

I feel like Margret wrote those books because she wanted to make up a fun fictional book that showed how some kids had to fight for there freedom and every other 3rd child. I think she also wants to show that everyone has rights.

By: Emily Davies
My author is W. Bruce Cameron. He wrote the New York Times and USA Today bestseller, A Dogs Purpose. He had a little sister two years younger than him. Something that I was very surprised about him was that when he was in 4th grade he had the patience to sit down and write a 26 page book that was about a little boy that lived in a small town in Chicago. And he wrote all 26 pages at one time until his arm got tiered.
I think that the author wrote this book because he loves dogs. And really you never know because what happened in the book might have happened to him in real life. Something that happened in the book is that there was a fire in the dogs owners house and the owner (Ethan) got trapped in his upstairs bedroom and had to jump out the window. And he feel into a burning bush and hurt his leg. Maybe that happened in real life to him.

When he was 16 he said the worst thing happened: He sold hid first story. And from then on until 1995. The reason it was so bad was because it convinced him that writing was going to be easy. But guess what? It wasn't!
Something that I noticed about him from reading hid website is that he is a joker and likes to joke around a lot.
Thank you for reading my padlet and if you want to find out more information about W. Bruce Cameron here is the website: www.brucecameron.com.

                    Thank you!

By: Jadyn Forrester

The author I would like to tell you about is Suzanne Collins. She is a New York times bestselling author. Suzanne is the author of The Hunger Games trilogy. One thing that I had no idea about is that she has not written very many books. All of The Huger Games books are amazing and so are her other ones.

Another thing I was surprised about was that Suzanne I didn't know was that her series, The Hunger Games, has been sold in 56 territories and 51 languages. That is surprising to me because the series must be very popular which I can see because I love the Hunger Games.

I think that Suzanne wrote The Hunger Games because she wanted to write a fictional story about things in the could have happened in the past. Or she could have written it because she just wanted to write a action packed book. The Hunger Games is a little romantic too in some parts.

I think she also wrote The Underground Chronicles because she wanted to write an action book. I think Suzanne added rats in The Underground Chronicles because she loves rats. On her web page she has a picture of herself and a rat nose to nose. ( The rat wasn't real. ).

Thank you for reading my information about Suzanne Collins, if you want to read more information about her or learn what other books she has written you can visit her website, www.suzannecollinsbooks.com . Thank you again for reading my padlet.

This really surprised me I know he is an exceptional author but I didn't know that he was that exceptional to everyone else. I was also surprised that Rick used to be a middle school teacher. I always picture him as a world renowned author not a teacher.
Rick wrote these books because his son,Haley, gave him the idea to take the stories he made up and told his kids as bedtime stories and write them down and make some novels out of it. After rick finished his first book he enjoyed writing it so much he continued on writing, and later once his books published he made a profession out of writing. He is a wonderful author you should really read a series or book of his there are a lot to choose from.

I have read part of his Kane Chronicles and Percy Jackson series. I was very surprised that He had also wrote the overall story arch of the critically acclaimed 39 Clues books. Even though I have personally not read it many of my friends have and said it was very good.
He writes books because his son would ask for a bed time story every night that was exiting. being a social studies teacher he told his son myths. Eventually he ran out of them and asked if he could make some up. He than made the story of Percy Jackson and told it to his son. His son liked it so much he said it should be turned into a story. It was a big hit so he made new stories out of other ancient cultures.
