Maria Theresa was the ruler of the Habsburg Dominions, born May 13, 1717, daughter of Charles IV, and queen of Hungary and Bohemia. She was the only woman to ever hold this position. She was the ruler of the age of enlightened absolutists. She is one of the most famous Habsburgs. Her father, the Holy Roman emperor, issued the Pragmatic Sanction to allow Maria to rule after him. During her time being queen she managed to make their army stronger by doubling the number of troops, she reorganized the tax structure to ensure annual income to support the cost of the government and army. She brought unity to the Habsburg monarchy. She passed away November 29, 1780.

https://www.habsburger.net/en/persons/habsburg-emperor/maria-theresa
