Pulling Scarf

We like seeing colorful things like these scarves. We tried pulling the scarves from the holes inside the box. We also used it to play peek-a-boo with our teachers, and we had so much fun!

Trying out lemons

We had a tasting activity by trying out some lemons. We used our senses with this activity like smelling and squeezing the lemon. It was something new to us that is why we got interested. I licked it and my face showed it all. I enjoyed my first lemon experience.

One of our sensory plays is scooping/grabbing rubber bands from a water bin. We enjoyed the feeling of water and colorful the rubber on our hands. We also tried transferring the rubber bands from one bin to the other.

Exploring fuzzy wires

We practiced our fine motor skills by pulling fuzzy wires from the strainer. Fuzzy wires have a different texture and we got interested in it. I enjoyed this activity, and it trained my focus and attention span.

Water play

Another sensory play is exploring water and sponge. We love water so much, and we had fun exploring water and sponge. We got curious about the feeling of a sponge on our hand because of its different texture and how it holds water. We also enjoyed making showers using different sizes of cups and catching them with our hands.

Exploring loose parts

We explored loose parts today. This kind of open-ended activity will help our imagination, creativity, and how we think. We used our hands to manipulate the materials on the tray. So far, my favorite is the colorful pom poms.

The Making of Bottle Shakers

Today, we made bottle shakers by putting different materials inside the bottle. This activity helped our eye-hand coordination when we tried to shoot the materials in the small hole of the bottle. We enjoyed this activity because we liked the sound of the bottles when we shook them.

Another fun activity today is getting animal toys inside the basket. This was a bit challenging for us because of the strings tied in the basket like the web of the spiders. We developed our cognitive and problem-solving skills to grab the animals.

Shooting balls

One of our favorite thing to do using our hands is to shoot different objects. Today, we shoot different sizes, textures, and colors of balls inside a box with holes. It was a bit challenging for us to shoot some balls because there are different sizes of holes and some balls won't fit. On the other hand, this helped us develop our problem-solving skills.

Aside from the bottle shakers, we also enjoyed playing with the ring shakers. We shake our hands along with the beat of the song Shake My Sillies Out by Raffi. The sound of the shakers helped us be engaged and focus on the sounds around us.

Hand painting

For our art activity, we did hand painting. We explored paint using our bare hands. We tried making a flower by stamping our hands with red paint on it. Aside from our hands, we also used pegs to stamp on the paper.

Sensory Walk

During our active playtime, we did a sensory walk. We used different parts of our bodies to touch and feel the things attached to the puzzle mat. So far, our favorite is the pompoms. We like pulling and squeezing it which is good for our fine motor strength.

Feeling the Leaves

During our outdoor baby play, we are always looking at the moving leaves from the shrubs because of the wind. Today, we satisfied our curiosity by touching different kinds of leaves during Circle Time. We tried tearing and crumpling it as well.

To strengthen our fine motor skills, we did a pouring and squeezing activity using water since we all love it. We used different containers like cups and bottles to pour and squeeze the water. We also enjoyed splashing and showering with the water.

Ball Painting

Our art today is ball painting. Using different parts of our bodies like hands and feet, we tried making the balls roll n the tub that has paint on it to make marks and patterns. We also saw color mixtures as we shook and rolled the ball inside the tub.

Exploring Coffee Grounds

Our outdoor sensory activity today is coffee grounds. We use our senses to explore the coffee grounds. We used our little noses to smell it. We also used our hands to feel the texture of the coffee grounds. We also used a scooper and tried scooping and transferring the coffee ground to the cup.

Loose Parts and Tape

We did something new and interesting activities today. We played with loose parts like pompoms, marker covers, leaves, and cotton. We tried sticking them on a frame that had tape. The sticking feeling of the tape makes us want to explore more.

Tasting activity.

After Circle Time, we did a fruit-tasting activity. First, we touched and felt the rambutan. Initially, we hesitated because of its different texture but later on, we got interested and tried touching it again. After feeling the rambutan and smelling the lemon, we tried licking it. Surprisingly, we liked the rambutan but not the lemon because of its sourness.

Tape rescue

We felt like we were on a mission because we had to save the animal stuck on the floor. We used our hands to remove the tape to help the animals. We got hooked on removing the tape on the floor and the one that was sticking to the bodies of the animals. This activity helped us strengthen our fine motor skills, expose us to sticky textures and enhance our attention span and focus.

Exploring cloud dough

We explored cloud dough for sensory play today. It is made of cornstarch and oil. It gives a powdery feeling and is close to the texture of snow except that it is not cold. We tried getting some from the bin and some were also on the floor which was part of our exploration. We enjoyed the feeling of the dough on our hands and even on the different parts of our body like our arms, legs, and even feet.

Sago exploration

For our sensory activity today, we explored sago or tapioca pearls. The colors of the sago made us curious about it and we got interested and experienced it ourselves. We scooped it using our hands and the spoon. We also tried squeezing it. We want to taste it but unfortunately, it's just for playing. Maybe next time if I grow older.

Removing Wooden Clips

To develop our fine motor skills, we tried to remove the wooden clips that were attached to the pot and the strainer. It was a bit challenging for us because of our small hands but we were able to pull the clips with the help of an adult.

Last time, we played with coffee grounds. Today, we explored more of it but this time it was wet. It was the same coffee grounds from last time but it feels different now that it has a little bit of water in it. We had fun grabbing the wet coffee grounds. We even put it on our legs and feet.

Water play

More water today but this time, it's colored water. We also tried using big droppers to absorb the water from the basin and squeeze it to release the water inside. Squeezing the top part of the droppers is a good exercise for our small muscles.

Sink and Float

Another interesting activity is shooting bears inside the gallon. The colorful bears caught our attention and shot inside the gallon that had water in it. We tried putting all the bears inside but some won't fit because it's too big for the hole of the gallon. With this, it develops our problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Also, we tried to get the bears from the inside but our hands won't fit. This helped our spatial awareness. The truth is we like to play with the water inside. 😋

Pasting Activity

For our art activity today, we tried using glue to paste pieces of paper on the outline of the Philippine Flag. With the help of an adult and our teachers, we grabbed and pasted pieces of colored paper to the layout of the flag. For some of us, it was our first time experiencing the sticky feeling of the glue and it was interesting.

Crepe paper sensory bin

Shooting balls

We used our hands to shoot ping-pong balls in the tissue paper rolls that had a design of The Philippine Flag. We are into shooting but this time we were interested in pulling the crepe paper hanging on the tissue paper rolls. We also like to pull the tissue paper rolls from the wall.

Mess-free Paint

Another color exploration activity is mess-free paint. We used different parts of our body like hands and feet to mix all the colors in between the plastic covers. It's amazing to see colors moving as we move our fingers, hands, and feet.

Exploring light table

Another sensory activity today is exploring the light table. We put different things on top of the light table and we observed what happened. We were given colored blocks to put on the light table, but we also tried putting different materials like toy animals. We also used the colored blocks as a window when we tried looking through it.

Tearing Different Kinds of Paper

Today, we played with something interesting... gak or ooblek! It's a mix of cornstarch and water. It feels like water, but it's thicker and has a different texture. We also tried to save little toy animals that got stuck in the gak. This activity helps us get better at using our hands and fingers.

Stamping Duplo Blocks

For our art activity, we played with big Lego Duplo blocks. We used the blocks to make cool designs on a big piece of paper on the floor. We dipped the blocks in paint and pressed them on the paper to make colorful marks. I was so excited by the different colors of the paint that I even used my hand to paint some parts of the paper.

Exploring Colored Ice

Today, we played with ice for our special activity. We got to touch the ice with our hands and it was really cold! Then, we used a wooden hammer to hit the ice and make it crack. After that, we used a bottle to spray water on the ice and it started to melt. We found some toy animals hiding inside the ice and it was a big surprise! It was really fun because we didn't know they were there. The best part was finding sea animals in the ice

Tumbang Preso

We tried playing a Filipino Game called Tumbang Preso. We used water bottle and rings instead of can and slippers to be more age-appropriate. We used the rings to make the bottle tip over. We also tried shooting rings on the bottles. We practiced our eye-hand coordination through this activity as well as our gross motor skills.

Making Pastillas

To celebrate our heritage, we made a Filipino dessert called Pastillas. We mixed powdered milk and condensed milk by stirring using a spoon. After getting the right consistency, we rolled the mixture into the sugar and that's how we made delicious Pastillas.

Familiarizing with the colors of the rainbow

During Circle Time, we familiarized ourselves with the colors of the rainbow. We used scarves and a song called "The Rainbow Song" by Barney.

Playing with bubbles

This was our favorite activity today, playing and making bubbles. There was a bin with bubbles in our outdoor area. We got curious about the water and the bubbles. Finding Sea Animals

One of our outdoor activities today was finding animals. There was a bin that had sea animals but it was under the red water. We used our hands to get the sea animals at the bottom of the bin. We always love balls and today it was part of our play activity. We used our hands to grab and shoot the ball inside a jar. At first, we had a hard time getting the ball from the basket because it was too big for our small hands but later on, we were able to get it using two hands. Vertical painting

For our art activity and fine motor skills, we did vertical painting. We were always engaged whenever we did painting activity but this time we tried doing it on the paper taped on the wall. We did something exciting today. We pulled scarves from the tissue holder. We were surprised because the scarves kept coming out of the tissue holder like it's not ending. Rings and Cones

We played with cones and rings today. We used our hand and whole-arm movement to shoot the rings on the cones. This helped us with our eye-hand coordination. Aside from this, we also used the rings as a steering wheel and pretended that we were driving a firetruck.

Playdough exploration

For our sensory activity today, we explored playdough made of flour, salt, oil and water. Using our little hands, we tried getting small chunks of the dough from the big one. We squeezed it with our whole hand. We also used a wooden hammer to pound the playdough. Playdough activities are fun to do and also beneficial for our fine motor development.

Giving animals a bath

The animals at Old Macdonalds need a bath so we helped them today. The animals were covered with "mud" and we tried cleaning them. We used water with soap and a sponge to scrub the dirt on the animals. After cleaning all of the animals, we explored the sponge and how it absorbs water.

Sensory Wall

We explored different textures today. Our walls have different things on them. After Circle Time, we went through all the materials on the wall and we touched it. Each item gave a different feeling and texture. I think my favorite is the yellow sponge and foil because of the sound it made when I touched them.

Sensory Bags

Aside from the sensory wall, we also explored sensory bags with a variety of materials that were stuck on the floor. Some are soft and some are fuzzy. We used our hands and feet to feel the texture of the materials inside the sensory bag.

We also explored stickiness through masking tape on the floor. There were ping-pong balls, and we tried to roll them and make them stuck on the tape. At some point, we forgot that there was tape on the floor and my feet got caught. I even left my socks stuck on the tape but I was able to get it.

Stamping Circles

For our art activity today, we did stamping using different sizes of circles. We dipped the opening of the containers and pressed it to the paper. At first, we only used one hand to hold the containers but later on, we tried using both of our hands and pressing the circles alternately.

Digging Counter Bears

We looked for bears inside the bin with cloud dough made of cornstarch, oil, and food coloring. We were hesitant to touch the mixture because it was something new for some of us which is why we used spoons and colored glass to dig for bears but later on, we got curious about the mixture and started exploring it.

Chia Seeds Sensory Play

For our sensory activity today, we explored chia seeds. There were chia seeds soaked in water inside the bin. The texture of it was similar to slime. We tried touching it with our hands and transferring it to the floor. We also used a scooper to get chia seed from the bin and transfer it to the bowl. This activity helped us to lengthen our attention span and focus.

Ball Shooting on Tube Cups

We used our hands to shoot ping-pong balls into the tube cups. We liked to shoot and watch as the ball rolled down the tube cups to the floor, but we still preferred removing and pulling the tube cups from the mirror. Maybe our little fingers and hands are getting stronger because we can now pull them easily.

Parachute

We were amazed by the colorful parachute. It's fun to see and make it fly and fall above us while the colors shine brightly and vividly because of the ceiling lights.

Scooping Macaroni Pasta

We enjoyed playing with the macaroni pasta. We liked scooping the pasta and pouring it into the mini bins. We also liked to hear the sound that the macaroni pasta was making after moving, shaking, and pouring it.

Splat Painting

We enjoyed playing with the fly swatter; it's fun to hold and swing it around. We also dipped the fly swatter in the paint and used it to make colorful artwork during our splat painting activity. Other than the swatter, we also used our fingers and hands to poke, touch, and feel the paint; that's why our hands are so colorful today.

Sensory Bean Bags

Sensory activities make us feel curious about the different textures of the materials around us. That's why in this activity, we used our little hands and feet to feel, touch, and grab the sensory bean bags. It is interesting to see the beans move and make a sound whenever we hold or shake them.

Tossing bean bags

In this activity, we tossed and threw the small bean bags into the empty bin using our small hands. It is interesting to hear the sound of the bean bags whenever they hit the floor or the bin, to see the bin spin with just a little touch, and to feel the moving beans inside the bags.

Tape Resist Art

It's painting time again for our art activity! We created another beautiful artwork by dipping the brush into the paint. Other than the paint brush, we also used our hands and feet to scribble and spread the paint all around the paper.

Taste Safe Sound

Today, we felt as if we were on the beach because of the sand-like sensory activity that we had. Although it is not really sand because it is actually made of brown sugar and cornstarch, it still feels and looks like real sand. We had fun touching and playing with it; we even tried scooping it using our hands and the powder scoop.

Scooping Marker Caps

We really liked the scooping and pouring activity. We're interested in the look and texture of the colorful marker caps. We also like hearing the sound that it makes whenever we move, scoop, pour, or throw the marker caps.

Parking Lot and Pounding Activity

In these activities, we enjoyed playing with the small and colorful toy cars, making them drive along the road, and parking them inside the parking lot spot. We also enjoyed the pounding activity, where we pound and see if the styrofoam, chalk, and beans will break. It is also nice to hear the sounds that we make as we use our small hammers to pound the objects. These activities helped us to improve our small muscles just by touching, grasping, and holding the things around us.

Hole in the box

I tried exploring the box with the hole inside by trying to put some ping-pong balls in it and shooting them into the hole. Moving the box was a bit challenging, that's why I just shot the balls directly into the hole. I also tried to put my hand inside to get the ping-pong balls under the box.

Scooping and picking gems

Today, I did another scooping activity. I used my little hands to pick the gems and the spoon to scoop and transfer them from the big bin into the cups. I also pretended to cook and mix the gems inside the cup.

Taste Safe Mud

I was really curious about the mud because of its look and smell. It is made from cornstarch and milo, but it really feels and looks like real mud. I played with it by scooping it with the spoon and pouring it into the bowl. I also tried to poke and touch it.

Paper Tunnel

There are so many colorful paper tunnels on the floor, and I explored them by moving and driving the toy cars inside the tunnels. I enjoyed watching the cars move and roll inside the tunnels.

Crayon Scribbling

I felt so amazed by the colors, lines, and shapes that we made. I made colorful artwork and scribbles just by moving the cup, with crayons around it, on top of the paper. It is really fun to use my hands and arms to make beautiful artwork.

Colored Water Dropper

I did another water activity, but here, instead of using the dropper to get the colored water, I preferred feeling the cold water on my hands. It is also interesting to see the colored water make my fingers and hands colorful, especially the orange color since it has the same color as the fruit that we used in making the juice.

Colored Sensory Bags

Today, I played with the colorful sensory bags. It is really fun to touch, poke, squeeze, and even walk and stomp on it because of how soft it is. I also liked seeing the colorful mixture move around inside the bags.

Orange Juice Making

I was very excited about this activity because we made orange juice. I showed how strong my hands and fingers were when I squeezed the orange very hard. I enjoyed getting the juice out of the orange, but it made me curious about how it tasted. That's why I tried to taste it, but it is both sweet and sour.

Gelatin and Water Sensory

It was fun playing with water, and it was much more enjoyable because of the clear gelatin. I enjoyed feeling the cold water while trying to touch, squeeze, and grab the gelatin. It is kind of slippery and a bit bouncy, like slime, which is fun to play with.

Floating Sliced Orange

After making the juice, I tried to reach for the sliced oranges floating in the water. I felt entertained by chasing the oranges as they moved around the bin and fishing them out of the water.

Halloween Painting

For the art activity, I used the sponge brush and the orange paint to make a cute artwork of a pumpkin. I am amused to see the paint make the white paper turn orange. Other than that, I liked using my hands to feel the paint while doing some final touches to my artwork. I can't wait to see it once it dries.

Spider Web

It is interesting to see the small dinosaur toys inside the basket with a spider web of white yarn. At first, when I tried to put my hand inside, it was hard to reach and remove the dinosaurs. My fingers and the toy I held kept getting tangled on the web, but soon I learned the trick and got many dinosaurs out of the basket.

Foam Ghost Sensory Bin

Today, I was able to play with water again. It is really fun to feel the water around my hand. I really enjoyed catching and grabbing the ghosts, made of styrofoam, that were floating on the water. Also, it was fun to make a lot of bubbles just by shaking my little hands in the water.

Puffy Ghost Paint

This activity is new to me. It is fun to see, touch, and use the colorful foam to make a pretty and unique colorful ghost. My mom and I tried to put and mix different pastel colors like red, orange, yellow, and purple.

Halloween Cup Shooting

It made me feel excited to see the ping-pong balls bounce whenever I threw them. The sound that it made is also interesting. I also enjoyed trying to shoot the pingpong balls inside the ghost cups.

Exploring the Light Table

Sensory Walk

Today, I played with the textured sensory mats. I was able to touch and feel different textures, like fluffy pompoms, rough sandpapers, spikey steel wool, soft yarns, and bumpy mats. I even used my hands and feet to feel each mat, but what I liked the most was holding and pulling the steel wool from the mat.

Ice Painting

I made another cool artwork out of colored ice. I moved the ice paint by swirling it around, and it left behind these colorful melted paint marks. It was pretty fun playing with the ice. My hands got a little chilly, but it was totally worth it to make such a fun painting.

Music Bin

I really enjoyed playing with the music instruments—shaking egg shakers and maracas, pounding drums, ringing bells, and tapping the xylophone was so cool! I loved hearing all the different sounds.

Sensory Wall

I explored different textures today. The walls have different textures on them. I went through all the materials on the wall to touch them. I was amazed that they not only had different feelings and textures, but they also made sounds. I think my favorites are the foil, styrofoam, and colander because of the sound that they made when I touched them.

Tape Rescue

This activity really made me feel like I was on a rescue mission. I had to save some toy animals by pulling the tape off them. Getting all that sticky tape off really helped strengthen my fingers. I also touched and felt the sticky texture when I peeled it off. It took some focus to get it all!

Ball Rolling Toy

I really enjoyed playing with the ball-rolling toy. It is fun to shake the ball and watch it swirl down because of the sound that it makes. Also, I liked seeing and petting the cat's head on top of the toy because it reminded me of our pet cat.

Bottle Shaker

I made my own shaker out of a bottle and gems. I filled it up by putting the gems inside, and I shook it around. It really made a good sound as I shook it along with some songs. Also, throwing it on the floor was fun to hear as the gems made a rattling sound.

Exploring the Sound Treasure Basket

I explored a sound treasure basket where I played with random materials like empty bottles, tissue tubes, a small bucket, and old bracelets. I made some sounds with these materials just by tapping, pounding, throwing, and shaking them. It's good to know that I can make simple sounds with the things around me.

The crepe paper sensory bin was really nice. The papers felt so soft in my hands when I grabbed and tore them. I loved seeing the different colors, like red, yellow, blue, orange, and black. It was fun exploring all these sensory activities!

Sago Sensory Bin

Playing with Sago in the sensory bin was so much fun. I scooped it up with spoons and put it in bowls. I also tried touching it; it felt new but it was nice squeezing and feeling the sticky sago through my fingers.

Pulling Wrapping Paper & Christmas Animals Surprise

It's Christmas time! which also means presents! I liked opening up all the wrapped gifts and finding the little animal toys inside. I tried to pull it off or just shake it hard until the wrapper came off. I enjoyed doing this and also peeling more wrapping papers off the mirror. I guess this activity really worked out my fingers.

Water Xylophone

The water xylophone was really cool. I was surprised by the bright colors in the jars, but even more amazed by the different sounds it made when I tapped it using the stick. It was fun, especially when I tried tapping along to some songs too.

Decorating Christmas Balls

I decorated Christmas balls on paper by putting shiny cellophane inside the ball-shaped sticky part of the paper. It was so fun seeing how colorful and bright they looked, especially in the light!
