The book summarizes historical moves into rules, like hiding your intentions, protecting your reputation at all costs, and making others dependent on you.

It suggests that the world operates like a continuous, strategic game.

However, the book offers a useful defensive guide. It reveals the hidden agendas of toxic people and corporate ladder climbers. This makes it a must-read for understanding workplace politics, even if you decide not to use its darker techniques.

Author: Morgan Housel

Book review by:Shinaha Hildin

Class:11B

Book Review::I just finished reading The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel, and it completely changed how I think about saving and success. Instead of boring readers with confusing math or complicated spreadsheets, the book uses interesting short stories to show that managing money is actually all about human behavior and self-control. My biggest takeaway was the difference between being rich and being wealthy; being rich is just showing off a high income, while true wealth is the unseen money you save that buys you freedom and control over your time. It is a super easy, quick read that I think every student should pick up to build smart financial habits early on before entering the real world.

Using a number of anecdotes, Housel shows that success with money is not based on how smart a person is but rather how he acts. One of the key distinctions made throughout the book concerns the difference between being wealthy, which is having a lot of disposable money, and being rich, which refers to having a very high income. Instead of focusing on optimizing financial gains through the markets, the author promotes finding flexibility, happiness, and consistency.

According to the author, it is essential to realize that it does not matter how much willpower you have because the only way to form productive habits is to change your surroundings and system in such a way to make it easy for you. Clear proposes his "Four Laws of Behavior Change" which state that you should make desirable habits obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying, while making bad habits invisible, unattractive, difficult, and unsatisfying. It is also important to shift your emphasis from particular goals to yourself as a person so that you can be the kind of person who performs certain actions.

The story follows Pip, a super smart high school student who decides to investigate a closed local murder case for her final school project because she is convinced the police blamed the wrong guy. What makes the book so addictive is that it is not just normal paragraphs; it includes Pip’s actual project notes, interview transcripts, and suspect logs, which makes you feel like you are solving the crime right alongside her. It has so many crazy twists that kept me guessing until the very last page, and the friendship between Pip and Ravi is amazing. If you love fast-paced true crime stories or need a book that will actually keep you hooked, I highly recommend picking this one up

System 1 works subconsciously and intuitively, using shortcuts, impressions, and emotions to make life easier. System 2 works logically and deliberately, being engaged when people deal with complicated mathematics, numbers and figures, and require concentration. In fact, Kahneman demonstrates the negative aspects of System 1 in terms of the way it determines human behavior and the decision-making process leading to certain errors in judgment and cognitive biases that should have been prevented if people worked with their logical mind, i.e. System 2.

Author:Fredrik Backman

Book review by: Shinaha Hildin

Class:11B

Review:Honestly, A Man Called Ove is such a beautiful book, and I’m so glad I read it. At first, Ove just seems like that incredibly annoying, grumpy neighbour who yells at everyone for no reason, but as you read his backstory, your heart completely breaks for him. The way his new neighbours totally ignore his mean exterior and force him into their lives is both hilarious and super moving. It really made me think about how everyone is fighting their own hidden battles, and it’s honestly the perfect mix of a sad cry and a feel-good laugh.

The book explains how our subconscious mind affects our thoughts, actions, and success in life. According to the author, whatever we think deeply and repeatedly becomes a part of our subconscious mind and influences our future. The book teaches readers to think positively and believe in themselves.
One thing I liked most about this book is the simple language used by the author. The ideas are easy to understand, and the real-life examples make the book more relatable. It is written in the form of a letter in which he reflects back at his ninety years of living in the form of some philosophical musings regarding love, friendship, loneliness, grief, and the delights of nature. It is not meant to be an instructional self-help kind of book, but rather a meditative one. This is evident in how it discusses the childhood experiences, adventures of youth, and the author's great love for books and the craft of writing. The book acts as a reminder to its young audience to forgive themselves, show compassion towards others, and build inner strength to overcome various challenges.

Although it was a little hard for me at first to comprehend, as I continued, it pulled me in even harder.

Book : The Reappearance of Rachel Price

Author : Holly Jackson

The Reappearance of Rachel Price is a gripping psychological thriller that serves as a fantastic escape from a heavy routine. The story centers on eighteen-year-old Bel, who was just a toddler when her mother, Rachel, disappeared without a trace, and Bel was sole witness but cannot remember anything. when her mother, Rachel, vanished sixteen years ago. The plot instantly pulls you into a high-stakes, claustrophobic atmosphere as a camera crew arrives to film a true-crime documentary about the mystery.

Right in the middle of filming, Rachel suddenly walks back into their lives out of nowhere. Bel's sarcastic, deeply cynical voice anchors the narrative beautifully as she launches into her own dark, investigative puzzle—spying, recording conversations, and hunting for hidden clues because she simply does not buy her mother's story. While the middle section slows down slightly under the weight of these investigative details, the book quickly turns into a chaotic and shocking twists that will keep you guessing until the very final sentence.

It is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a mystery that completely messes with your head!

Book : Good Girl, Bad Blood

Author: Holly Jackson

Good Girl, Bad Blood is an amazing sequel that is just as gripping as the first book, but with a much more emotional ending. In this story, Pip swears she is done investigating crimes after the trauma of her last case, and she even starts a true-crime podcast to share the story safely. However, everything changes when her friend Connor's older brother, Jamie, goes missing on the same night the town holds a memorial for Andie and Sal. When the police refuse to look for him because he is an adult, Pip has no choice but to break her promise and start searching for clues herself. The middle of the book is a fast-paced race against time as Pip uncovers dark town secrets, tracks down an online catfish account, and live-streams her investigation to her podcast listeners. The climax is where the book truly stands out—it hits you with a wave of raw emotion and a shocking twist that leaves you feeling completely stunned for Pip.
