Prewitt was not a proud peacock. His tail was not as beautiful as the other peacocks' tails. As his tail grew, it was scary and/or creepy to the other peacocks. They chased Prewitt to pluck his feathers from his tail. They ran right into the tiger and when Prewitt showed his tail, the tiger ran away quickly.  Prewitt was their hero and celebrated.

I wanted to know more about the character Julian, so I bought this book. This book gives the back story of the characters Julian, Charlotte, and Christopher. It gave me a different perspective of Julian. After reading The Julian Chapter, I didn't dislike his character as much anymore. I was not surprised by what I learned about Charlotte's character, but I was about Christopher. Christopher was Auggie's first true friend. This tells the story of Ivan who is the main attraction at a Big Top Mall and Arcade. He has been there most all of his life living in a cage. His best friend is Stella the elephant. It follows Ivan's life and how he comes to be released from his mall cage and into the hands of a zoo. I also loved reading about the real Ivan. This historical fiction book follows the events of Hurricane Katrina before, during, and after the infamous hurricane. Barry's family tried to leave before Katrina hit, but while in traffic his younger sister has a high fever and can't stop vomiting. They can't go to the Superdome because its already too crowded and Cleo is sick. They head home to ride out the storm in the lower ninth ward. The storm washes Barry away as they were seeking shelter in their attic. I read the illustrated version of this book to my son. He absolutely loved it! I had not read this book in a good ten years or so. It is nice to read a book over. There are so many things that you can catch the second time around. The illustrations in this version of the book are just amazing, I think. Harry lives with his aunt, uncle, and cousin who treat him terribly. He learns he is actually a wizard and sets off to Hogwarts to learn the ways of the wizard world. He makes friends with Ron and Herminone and tackles huge obstacles in his first year at Hogwarts such as fighting giants, winning his first Quidditch match, besting Voldemort, solving mysteries, and helping his house win the house cup in the end.
